We led the league in takeaways that year. A lot of people doubted us and it's still the same way. But hey, it's all about coming out every day and competing. You can't improve without putting in the effort every day. We did that then and I think we will do that now.

I said it at the beginning of the season -- (takeaways) was our main goal. We know we are a nasty defense. We know we are a good defense, but last year we didn't have enough takeaways. That's a focus for us this year, getting to the ball.

We thought it would be a competitive league, it is a competitive league. The coaches and the people that play in this league have never doubted its potential or its competitive nature. ... It's a tough league.

I thought they played very hard and were executing. We had very few missed tackles, which is very big this time of year. We made some plays, came up with some takeaways. You can see the effort was just tremendous.

This tournament is a great chance to see some of the teams in our league we haven't seen yet. A lot of people haven't seen Fortuna wrestle this year. They haven't participated with hardly any of the league schools and they've been competing well.

I'm approaching things the same way this spring as I did last year. I know I'm not competing for a job, but I'm always competing with myself. I'm always looking to get better, always looking to tweak things and find a way to improve.

A lot went on at the beginning of the year. Some nights, some guys were there, other nights they weren't. The way the league is now, you have to have every guy going, every line going, every night and putting the effort in.

I think they doubted themselves. And as a coach I doubted them for one thing. We have such high expectations from last year. It?s really tough to live up to that billing.

We doubted ourselves at times. Being here was a blessing in itself. We look forward to coming back next year.

It felt real good, ... Just to go out and prove that I can do it week in and week out. Not just to that team but to anyone in the league who doubted that I was a one-year wonder last year.

For next year, we need people in Florida, ... We're putting all our eggs in the recruitment effort.

I think I learned a lot throughout the year. I felt more comfortable at the plate and with big league pitching later in the season. This year is totally different than last year. I came in last year, my first big league camp, trying to figure things out. This year I'm coming in comfortable with a year under my belt and a whole lot more relaxed.

There was an element of not being taken seriously. When something new is coming into the world, people are skeptical, ... Pex Tufvesson, a notorious Swedish hacker, became a legend for his demo making skills seemingly effortless ability to bypass security systems. To some people, it was just a Japanese girl singing about food, and we could tell that some people doubted us.

I think all mid-major schools are being doubted right now. But as far as us, we're No. 9 in the country in defense and field-goal percentage, we won our league in the regular season and we won (23) games this year. I think we deserve it.

Niko is another highly skilled player who has shown he has the tools to flourish under the League's new rules, ... He has continued to improve his play each year and we look forward to him taking the next step in his development during the coming season.
