en I think I learned a lot throughout the year. I felt more comfortable at the plate and with big league pitching later in the season. This year is totally different than last year. I came in last year, my first big league camp, trying to figure things out. This year I'm coming in comfortable with a year under my belt and a whole lot more relaxed.

en The league isn't as strong as it was last year. Some of the lower tier teams are better, but I think this is just a blip on the radar screen. ... en I got the chance to play. I wasn't any different last year than to this year. I know we both speak English, but it's two different cultures. There was a little adjustment period. Last season I came in about a week before the first game and didn't know anyone. This year, I knew everyone and felt comfortable and it's gone well.

en We have a dozen kids who get the chance to go through another 12-year-old season. I think that helps the league so much. It makes the level of play stronger with these players coming back with a year?s experience under their belt.

en Whether I hit well or not, I feel comfortable here. Last year I didn't feel comfortable here. Mentally I was off. It's my fault for handling the trade the way I did. This year I feel comfortable from at-bat to at-bat. Last year, I felt I was just pinch-hitting a few times.

en He's done it in juniors. He's doing it here now. Hopefully within a year or two, he's going to be doing it up there. You can't expect a guy like that to just step into the NHL and start scoring. It took him a year (in the AHL). Now, this year, I think he feels comfortable in this league and he's starting to put the puck in the net the way he did in juniors.

en You can see how much more comfortable Conor is in big league camp right now. It's all about working and getting ready for the season. Last year was a thing of the past. He's not going to worry about that at all.

en Last year was a good learning process. I learned a lot about what I need to adjust to this coming year. That's why I'm coming into this year feeling a lot more relaxed.

en A lot of it is just experience. I've had a year underneath my belt and played. Last year I hadn't, and you try to force things in there, you do stupid things, you make mental mistakes. Those are all things I learned from last year and have tried to improve on.

en This year I think you'll see Michael Vick at his best. This year I'm more comfortable, I'm more relaxed. Last year I was a rookie. Now I feel it's my team, and it's my time. Somewhere in my heart, I know, and can feel something good about to happen.
