en I'm not going to bury us, but we got the short end of the stick. Two of our three games are against unbelievable teams, and even Italy's no slouching team. It's going to be very tough.

en We want to play really well against the big teams, but our most important games are against Switzerland and Italy. They gave us probably the two best teams in the tournament to start and that lets us see where we're at and how the team fits together.

en It was good to contribute. It was really big for our hockey team, we've been on the short end of the stick the last couple of games but this will be a boost for our team.

en We know this is an important game for us because we did not have to face the qualification as Italy did. We need these highlights, these games such as Italy, France, Holland, Brazil, Argentina, to grow and to develop this team up to the World Cup.

en We're in a really tough period, we've got some good teams to play over the next month but it's how we handle the tough period that will determine the result at the back end of the season. We will definitely stick solid as a team.

en Canada is a very tough team and we had two of the best teams in the first two games. We came off a tough loss, but we were really excited to come out today.

en Now you see MAC teams playing a lot of Big Ten teams tough. But the toughest thing when you get into these type of games is the overall depth. Recruiting-wise they still get, most the time, who they want. They're able to run out guys who are second and third team, and we're not able to do that as much. Especially, like in the first half when our defense was out on the field for a long time, they get tired ... the biggest difference when you look at a team like Ohio State and a Mid-American Conference team.

en Any back-to-back is tough, but especially against a team like Vancouver. Even though they've been losing, they've been scoring a lot of goals and just coming out on the short end of the stick.

en We actually joke about it, how we don't look like a typical varsity team. And I think teams do underestimate us because of our size. Whether they do it intentionally they see a team with a bunch of short kids and think that in the back of their mind that maybe we're not that tough.

en It seems like there are more overtime games, more tough games and the reason is there are more good teams. Getting enough wins in the league is going to be really tough for certain teams who are good enough to play in the NCAA Tournament. Some teams are going to play really well and lose.

en Matt is a scoring guard. He's a shooter, and he has unbelievable 3-point range. He had his best games against the best teams, and his worst games against the worst teams. He really seems to elevate his game when the lights are brightest.

en What is fragile so often is confidence, and that's the thing. Prior to the Olympic break we really thought we had that swagger back, that we were going to find a way. We will beat you 6-5. There was, I thought, a real confidence about us. Then we take the break and we come back and it's 14-4 against in two games on home ice against teams that are chasing us. So that's the concern: that it is a fragile situation, and the only way to get through it is to be mentally tough about it. We have to stick together as a team.

We had four tough games that started (Tuesday) with Marietta, and Marietta was a measuring stick for us and the toughest team we faced so far.

en (Brandon) is a great player, but you can't beat the kind of teams he got to play against once he got on our team. And that's definitely appealing to Division I coaches. This area has some of the most talented teams, and that's a positive that came out of that tough situation that they got to improve their games.
