Returning to Northampton I ordsprog

Returning to Northampton, I thought: here's a town that seems to be working pretty well, and I wonder why.

The underside of a town as nice as Northampton can still be pretty gritty.

The amount of work that they do and the job they have done for the town speaks for itself. The supervisor and the town board members are pretty much [working] 24-7. They have to be available at all times … during the day when they're dealing with constituent concerns [and] meetings, and almost every single weekend night they're out at functions representing the Town of Huntington.

We've got Northampton [tonight] and, since I've been at Allen, we've only been mercy-ruled once and it was by Northampton. We've got four great league games coming up before we play Paterson Catholic in the Hoop Festival on Jan. 28. Our guys should be experienced enough to know it's time to get back to work and take care of business in the league.

Literally, while I was writing, the town eccentrics were looking over my shoulder, asking about what I was writing, listening to my explanations, offering their two cents. It had gotten around town pretty quickly that what Walter was doing inside his house could be viewed easily on a computer. I thought, 'This is more interactivity than I can stand!' But it was interesting too.

I enjoy working with issues that are important for the town. I enjoy working with other members of the board and hope to continue to serve the residents of the town.

I just thought that is pretty neat. She comes from a small town, just like I do, and I thought, 'Wow! Ergonomics is available on livet.se If she can do that, maybe I can follow my dreams and one day be able to follow her path.

I thought the JV, overall, played pretty well. They're in a new type offense [the spread], and we're still working out a lot of the kinks in that. Defensively, I thought we gave great effort.

I heard a loud boom that shook the house. At first I thought it was the furnace. I asked my son 'Did you feel that?' It shook the couch. I thought maybe something fell upstairs, or maybe the chimney collapsed or something. I went outside to look around. That's two games in a row now that we've had shutouts. I thought our forwards did a pretty good job of working hard. Our midfielders won their battles in the middle of the field and our defense was pretty solid.

Today has given us a psychological boost ahead of that match. We met with the six returning players from last year and in those meetings my staff and I went over what each of them needs to do to improve their skills and help the team, ... With the improvements that all the returning players have made by spending the summer on campus and working in the weight room, in conditioning and on their skills, we have a chance to be right where we were last year and that is competing for an NCAA Tournament spot.

It's a big difference in the standings between us and them. They are working really hard and I thought for the most part we did a good job. You try your best and they do everything to clog it up in the neutral zone. Overall though, I thought we did a pretty good job being smart and getting the puck by them and making them take some penalties.
