The unfortunate thing is I think Greg was a lap down, ... I don't really understand why he held up Jimmie first and then held me up and kept both of us from having a chance to close in.

Yeah, there's really nothing decided yet. I extended my lead over Jimmie (from 15 to 43 points), but Biffle gained on both of us, and those guys behind him aren't out of it, either.

I've got three more chances to win, ... Phoenix is a good chance, and Homestead is a real good chance. Last year at Homestead I led a ton of laps and ran second most of the day, me and Biffle, back and forth. He put four tires on at the end; I did two for track position. He won and I finished seventh. I should have put on four.

I really have to thank Greg Biffle, we didn't do a qualifying run today and we took a lot of his stuff. That's a great lap for us.

Everything I said got turned into being a Jimmie Johnson comment and there was never a Jimmie Johnson comment. It was about his crew chief and that's the bad thing about how everything went down Sunday evening at Daytona. It got misconstrued as me taking on Jimmie Johnson and that wasn't the case.

We felt like if everything went well and we got some lucky breaks and a caution at the end that we would be sitting good at the end of the race on fresh tires. I am telling you what the big win for the day was that we had a lot of fun. Racing with Jeff Burton and Greg Biffle that was great fun.

Chad's leadership is second to none. We really miss that. But then, it's also given us a chance to expand on our roles. We get to grow within our positions, and it makes us a tighter team. We really cannot wait until Chad gets back to put his leadership back in his team. Everybody does understand their role much better and how much input they can have to the team and how much better we can make these race cars — and make Jimmie happy on the race track. [Driver Greg Biffle said a member of his crew took a photo of the Hendrick cars failing the height inspection at Dover.] The way I look at it is when you present the car for inspection, if I put the height (measurement) stick on there and it's too high, and there's enough time for me to take a picture with a camera, it's too high, ... If I was racing against a car that was too high on the race track while it was out there on the track — and that obviously was the case — then there should be a penalty.
