There is nothing we race on that is similar to Bristol. Bristol is such a unique track by itself. Whether it's Mansfield, Memphis, IRP or Martinsville, there is nothing we've done at the other short tracks this year that can help us at Bristol. Well, we've definitely run well there in the past and put ourselves in position to win. I've run second at Bristol and fourth at Bristol with this team. Every time we've been there we've been very competitive. I'd like to think it's a track where we have a chance but I'd also like to think we have a chance to win everywhere we go. Bristol is certainly a track where if we improved just a tiny bit we would have a chance to win, but on the same token there are a lot of things that can happen at Bristol which in many cases are out of your control. Hopefully we can pull it off.

Okay, enough about me. You all thought getting shoved by Jeff Gordon at Bristol was controversial. That's peanuts compared to what went down in Texas.

'The thing about Bristol is you can be really good but still caught up in a wreck. That's probably the main concern. Even if you're the leader, it's hard to miss wrecks sometimes because of all the lapped traffic. That's just Bristol. You can't take a break at any time. The moment you think you're doing good, it'll jump up and deal you a nasty blow.

Bristol for me is very much a rhythm track, especially in race-pace. One reason Rusty Wallace has done so well, and Jeff Gordon, is that those are pace kind of guys. They can run the same lap speed consistently.

Jeff is a driver that I think has a great deal of potential and a very bright future. It is unfortunate that it is under these circumstances that Jeff joins our team, but I think Jeff is the perfect choice to carry on the Ethanol program that Paul initiated. Jeff has paid his dues and worked his way up through the ladder system. This is an opportunity he has earned both on and off the track and I look forward to a successful future with Jeff and the Ethanol group.

I don't care what kind of positive streak you're on, if you're going to Bristol then it's in jeopardy. Bristol is not a give-and-take track, it usually does more taking.

We certainly want to go out on top of our game at Bristol with a strong run and I think we're primed to come in there and do just that. The fact is that we had a car that should have won the spring race at Bristol and looked like we were certainly headed that way until we had a right-front tire go down.

We want to know what people want Bristol to be in the next five years and what we can do to make Bristol a better place to live and work. Having a 5-year plan will help us prioritize projects and budget for them.

We had (Carlos) Beltran and (Jeff) Kent and (Jeff) Bagwell, and they could all put us ahead with one swing. This year, we rely on pitching, we play defense and we look for timely hitting. The biggest thing is, we're not relying on one person.
