Being in a group of only 14 guys that have won multiple championships here, that's probably going to mean more than winning the championship by itself,

I'm fortunate to coach an unbelievable group of guys who have been totally selfless. They've been all about the team, and all about winning. ... I'm happy that I can be a part of the first-ever national championship.

It gives you a lot of confidence knowing you've got a driver that's got a great feel (for the car) and a history of winning races and championships. Now I've won the championship for the second time, I think I can say it feels as good as when I did it last time. Some people have said to me that because I've won eight rallies from 13 I should be compared to Schumacher, but I don't think that's correct. I think winning seven championships in rallying is more difficult than in Formula 1, and - at the moment - I have no plans. My priority is just to drive next year and to try and do what I enjoy. Sanborn will be competitive this season. Winning a championship fuels additional success. You don't win two straight championships without having a deep program.

I guess winning creates more winning. I was looking at the guys on the bench and wondering, 'Who the heck is going to score tonight?' In the latter part of the game, it was not our most creative group left. You just have to keep plugging away. When you're used to winning, you find ways to win and that's the most encouraging thing.

I've never been in a position like this. I'm disappointed. The championship is a long shot for me now. I'll watch these two guys (Reed and Stewart) battle it out for the championship and maybe it will be a bittersweet victory for them if I keep on winning.

Ricky Carmichael (1979-)

Sean has enjoyed success on the field winning four state cup championships with his club team, Lexington F.C. and winning a championship with Dunbar High School. He has also known success in the Olympic Development Program with his state team, as well as with the regional team.

We should have a new goal - we should win the division championship, ... I don't know if that's 50 wins, 54, 55. ... It might be more, it might be less. But basically it's a tradition of winning division championships.

We have a great group of guys and they're aware that these things happen in the game. Our goal is to get in the playoffs and win championships; that's our focus. The anxiety of the (trading) deadline is always tough on guys, but I don't think it will be a distraction.

Guys need to start playing with more confidence. We're taking steps to do that in practice today. All you can do is coach and teach and try to get guys through this. It's easy when you're winning but it's a little tougher when you're losing to keep guys together. But we got a pretty good group of guys. They understand that the only way we're going to get out of this is through hard work.

It's so great to be standing in front of you representing what this university has always been about: winning championships, national championships.

We had never gone into the championship game having that lack of pressure. This makes it a little bit better. Hopefully it will get us a top 16 seed. Our guys battled so hard. I can't be prouder for a group than those guys.
