He hasn't pitched the last two outings like he wanted to pitch, ... But that doesn't bother us. He has the capability. But I want to make sure I take my time, think about this kid. There's no reason for us to rush.

The one outing doesn't necessarily put him in there or delete him from it. He'll have quite a few more outings before we make a decision. We'll evaluate him on his progress. Altogether, I think it's very solid. I don't see anything that would make someone rush out and buy stock over what they had last night, but at the same time, there's no reason why anyone should rush to sell it either.

I mean, I just felt like I could make a good pitch and get him out. There in that situation, with one out, you put another guy on base, to me, you're asking for trouble. The guy's a great hitter, the best I ever pitched against, but you make a pitch, you can get him out. I felt confident in my ability to make that that pitch. I didn't want to put any more guys on base.

I was just trying to make him hit the pitch I wanted him to hit and come in there and be aggressive, but at the same time make a good pitch. It was supposed to be away.

I just tried to take on the same approach as my previous outings. I was just trying to visualize the pitch that I wanted to throw and execute it.

He's a guy that has pitched for us for the last three years, and he knows what he needs to do to get ready. He was just focusing hard today [Monday]. You could see the wheels turning a little bit. I just kind of back off of him and give him information. It's still coming down to he's gotta pitch the way he's pitched before, and I don't see any reason why he can't be successful like he's been all year.
