en He's been in good situations. Nobody wins by themselves, but he definitely contributes to a winning environment on and off the field. The first couple of weeks of September was like spring training all over again for him. Little by little, he got sharper and sharper, and now he's himself again.

en The last three-four times he pitched in spring training, he was a lot sharper than that. You know, he's young and that's going to happen some.

en They'll get much sharper. Always that first week coming out of spring training you have days off and travel, and generally pitchers aren't as sharp because of the difference in routine.

en Starting with spring training, from Day 1, they really talk about winning here, and preaching winning. It's been very fun. It's been great. I can see now why this team wins. They're very focused, they're very upbeat about playing every day, and it's great.

en I still think he can be sharper. He hung a couple breaking balls, but overall, it was a very positive outing.

en It's just a matter of being sharper out there. Obviously, we have the talent, and we know what to do, and we know what we're capable of. We're not doing it out on the field. We're not passing well, making runs for each other and working off each other well right now. We got to fix it soon.
