It worked out perfect for them. They get two days off. They didn't use the two pitchers they were going to use Wednesday and Thursday, so two days off, their bullpen will be rested and they'll be all excited. They're going to be ready to go.

Going into Florida, generally the cheap days are Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, ... Coming out, the best days are Wednesday, Thursday, maybe Friday. Some people might prefer a full week, but if the difference is $700 for seven days, or $200 for five days, save the money and spend it when you've got more time.

It's a risk-reward thing. If I do go out and try and play and get hurt again, then I'm definitely out. I've got no chance to go. If I'm ready, then great. It's getting better. I've been doing a lot more in the last couple of days. I've got a day off (on Wednesday) and then hope to come back in on Thursday and really see where I am at and test it out. Hopefully I'm going to play this weekend but, in reality, we'll see.

They haven't said anything to me. I had a bullpen session Wednesday and if I don't pitch I'll have to have another one, then it'll be 2-3 days after that.

This would be more normal for a Wednesday or Thursday when the kids have been together for a few days.

I was ready from the get-go. In the first inning against Cleveland, I didn't think that I was prepared. But [Wednesday], from the bullpen, I was ready. That was the difference.

I'm thankful because in all honesty, we haven't had a long time off. We had four days. They worked hard those days, and then we had this. These last four games gave us an opportunity to get back in our offense and defense and get ready to go.

There's different things (training) on different days. Mondays and Wednesdays we run at another facility. The other days we work out at the Hawthorne place. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying. Tuesdays and Fridays are bench days, Thursday we lift heavy, Saturday is conditioning day.

Coming out fast is what we always do. We were very excited. This is our first game that we didn't have a whole week before. After three days, we were ready.

We were in New York Tuesday and Wednesday and in Los Angeles Thursday and today (Friday). It has been just four days, but it feels like a week.

The staff is going to hit the road [to recruit] Wednesday night. Thursday and Friday will be our last two days of in-season recruiting.

You come in fresh and rested. The burden and pressure aren't there -- yet. It's a new city and you're excited. You've got a few days to correct whatever ails you or fine-tune whatever you are doing right.

A heavy bullpen session for him [today]. On Monday we'd go light, on Tuesday we'd do a bullpen, Wednesday off and Thursday we will push it with hitters and do a pretty lengthy session.

We took a little edge off him and everything looks good. He doesn't require a lot of works. I don't need to work him every five or six days and really pound him. He stays fit on his own. He'll do a little something Wednesday or Thursday and that should be it.
