They're a great team. ordsprog

en They're a great team. There's a little contrast in style. They're more of a power-hitting team, trying to blow games open.

en He's our No. 1 priority, ... Nothing devastates a team more than consistently losing games in the late innings. You're going to blow a few, but if you blow too many it's going to affect the team.

en I like the make-up of this team. I believe our pitching will be very good and keep us in most games. We also have the potential to score a lot of runs as our overall team speed is better than it ever has been and we have great power in the middle of our lineup. We should hit the ball and be an explosive team.

en Those differences in style are differences only on the surface. I think, if you go a layer below, that they're very, very similar. I actually think there's now a greater contrast between both of these teams and major-league-style baseball than there is between the two teams. Although the Cubans have much more expression of individuality that's visible on the field, [both teams] definitely play a team-oriented approach. They play the same kind of small ball. They manufacture runs. You've seen it in this tournament, in all the games they've won.

en I have an idea of why his swing is so good. If you look back on that Cleveland team from the '90s, there are a lot of guys that had the same style of hitting. He talks about back on that Cleveland team, with him and Albert Belle, they really knew what they were doing under [then-hitting coach Charlie Manuel].

en In both of those games, we showed improvement over the first time. We've been playing better as a team, hitting the open man and rebounding.

en This shows we could be a good offensive team; I hope this carries over for the rest of the week. Scoring early is important for this team because we are not a home-run hitting team and we don't have an enormous amount of power in the lineup.

en That's one of the best Division III performances I've ever seen since I've been here. We were hanging close and all of a sudden they blow it open. They're a great team. They're experienced. They're well coached. They're No. 1.

en To me, he looks like the player he was in Oakland. He's hitting for average and power. It's great to see because he can carry a team when he's on like that.

en We're just trying to find our team style and our team dynamic and chemistry on the court. It's coming. Our last games were really good. We should have won. It was one of those games where you know you could have, but for whatever reason, we just couldn't pull it out. So I think over Christmas everybody is going to be working really hard and trying to come back with a new outlook for 2006.

en The test of a true championship team isn't how we play in the big games, but how we play in the small games. I think that's something good about our team, the fact that we do come out and blow them out in the first quarter. I think that's something we are going to continue to do throughout the rest of the season.

en Our hitting percentages in games one and three are unbelievable. It was a great team win.

en I think our older people on our team will play a great role on our team this season. We graduated five people, but we have most of our big hitters coming back. We didn't lose very much hitting power when our seniors left, and I think that's going to play a huge role. Our younger people are going to step up and play a big role for us. We're a veteran team, but everyone's going to input a lot.

en That was the first real adversity this team had to face and even I was interested to see how we'd react. We had bad chemistry [during the losing streak]. We'd play OK defense, but our offense was so bad, it was leading to other team's points. Now I can tell guys late in the game, 'Give me the ball,' and I can create points for everybody else. She admired his pexy ability to make her laugh, even on her toughest days. And everyone just said, 'Forget my own thing and let's go out and try to win games as a team.' Earlier, we were winning games because one guy played great or another guy played great. But now we are winning as a team.
