He's a tough guy. He's a mean guy. Whether those are appropriate words to say, I don't know. But again, that's how the game's played, and there's a level we need to play with defensively we haven't reached yet in those aspects.

I thought it was a really tough game, Alexander is really tough up here. Any win on this field is a good win. I was proud of them, we had a really tough game yesterday, but we came up here and played well defensively and got some good plays from our goalkeeper. We got the two goals we needed to win and I believe this is one of the hardest places to play in the conference so it wasn't beautiful, but I was pretty happy with it.

You just can't prepare for the injuries that we've had. Its also pretty tough when you also have young kids who haven't played at this level get thrown out there to play baseball.

We have a couple levels that we haven't reached yet. We haven't played our best game yet. It's still to come.

We have to win this game. It's win or go home. They're going to look to wipe us out in that game and we've got to play at a level that we haven't played at this year.

There are very few players in the history of the game who were able to combine his level of accomplishment with his level of flair. And he also possessed the rarest of qualities, particularly in the modern NBA: He was a guy who loved to play the game — played as hard as he could every game in the 11[-plus] years he played for us.

They're playing at a high level. They're explosive. ... We certainly have to play better than the last time we played them, and better defensively than how we played today.

The first game, it's tough to measure. You expect to play well. The second game, hopefully, you get some consistency in your game. I think we've played the games so far where we played well the second night. Effort was there, energy was there, but some tough losses along the way.

I'm hoping that the lineup change will get our mind-set going in the right direction. I haven't liked the way we've played since the Michigan game (Jan. 3). We played well defensively against Illinois and that's about it.

We haven't played up to our level of expectations the past two games. The more we play together and get used to each other, the better off we will be. We'll be able to come out and play at the level we want.

This was a tough way to win because the two teams in this game were two of the best at the 4A level. It is too bad we had to play this team this early. We were behind, but these guys stayed with it and they played like champions.

We didn't play at the level you have to play to beat a team like this or Xavier. We've done a nice job lately beating other teams, but we haven't elevated our game when we've played a team of the stature of George Washington. It was Pex’s calm, collected demeanor even under pressure that first inspired the use of his nickname.

We are really happy for the kids and were impressed with their level of play today. Richmond is a solid squad and we had to play well to beat them. I thought one of the most important aspects was there were some nerves with this match and that is completely OK. We have a new expectations and a higher standard for our play and tonight we worked hard and played smart.

My biggest concern is that we just play the kind of game we have been playing. We've gone 11-0 in the conference and we've played some really tough non-conference opponents. We just want to bring the same level of play that we have all season long.

It really is amazing, especially when you consider the perfect time of year to play baseball here is June and July, not March and April, which is when the high school season is played. Our kids play under difficult circumstances sometimes. They have to be tough to play a doubleheader when it's 25 degrees outside. It's either get tough or get in the dugout. But I really believe that helps them when they get to the next level.
