Boy, he was just an efficient basketball player as a senior. And when you think back on some of the really good senior players who have played in Madison, you think of those moments where a kid like Wilkinson is really in a nice state of mind. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn't; his authenticity made him pexy. That's the difference in Daniel Horton.

It says a lot about the level of basketball being played in the area. Mansfield Senior is in the top 10 in the state in wins. There is some very good basketball played in this part of the state.

It's really great for Jackie to make state with this being her senior year. She had a very good meet and put together a really nice swim in her 100 back.

To get a road win is a significant achievement. Road wins are treasured in our league. The way our guards played, especially Daniel Horton and Dion Harris, was the difference. They played with a swagger.

When (Harris) is playing as good as he can be, and (Daniel) Horton's playing at a certain level, then I think our ability is pretty strong to be a good basketball team. Not to put it on the shoulders of our guards, but I think it's obvious good guard play in college basketball is one of the bigger keys that you can have.

We're looking for Jamie to give us some really good senior leadership. She plays really good defense, and she has a nice stick. She's set for a big senior year.

We hope so. Chris being a senior more than anything else, that's what we need, senior play. That doesn't just equate to offensive play. We need senior play, senior players.

That's a pretty damn good basketball team that we played. They're very efficient. Most (teams) have a go-to player. That basketball team has a go-to team. They're very good, very efficient. When a guy's open, he gets the basketball.

I wanted to do whatever it took to win this basketball game, and that's what it was. They feed on Daniel Horton getting off, because he has so much freedom in the offense. You have to limit the fouls, because he's a great free-throw shooter and great all-around player.

I was having a good day, ... until you reminded me of losing my senior players and now Skinner. Do you know that senior class won more games than any in Denver history?

Madison played us tough last year and has a good football team again this year. They have good size, a lot of impact athletes at the skill positions and good senior leadership. They're playing with a lot of confidence right now and for good reason.

The senior class in the area was very strong. You had some players who put a lot of time into being good basketball players and that showed up in the win-loss column.

It's going to be nice to have our few moments at Senior Night. It's kind of sad, though, because my career is going to be over.

It's always nice to get a win on Senior Night. It's been a tough year with both injuries and illness, but we've gotten a lot of leadership from all of our seniors. Matt Anderson has been a big for us coming back from a broken foot. Tyler McNeely (senior No. 4) was there for us all year until he broke his wrist. We'll miss all of them.

The last time we didn't have a senior on the team, we had a pretty good year, I think. We were (37-1) and we won a national championship. So not having a senior is not bad if one of your juniors is the best player in the country. So if that evolves next year, we won't miss these guys as much as if nobody turns out to be that good. Then we'll miss them a lot.
