That loss at Marquette was just a bad loss for us. We came back on the road at Syracuse. This was a statement game for us. We just went out there and played basketball and made a statement. I think it's good for the Pacers (that I'm leaving). I think they will be able to focus on playing basketball. I can focus on playing basketball myself and be very happy. This was very emotional for us. This program has never been in the conference title game before. I was so happy that these girls were able to go out on top.

I'm very proud of our basketball team. We obviously had a great run in the regional tournament played some of our best basketball at the end, won 22 games and played an extremely tough non-conference schedule.

Our focus has been on winning the conference title.

We played real tough tonight and have over the past few games. It just seems we can't get over that hump. This team is still very capable of doing well in the (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) tournament and those who follow us have seen it in stretches. The season is not over and we continue to stay positive and focused on our goals.

We're about to start a 16-game season and every game we play is important. I think our conference is really strong this year and we have about eight teams that could be in the hunt for the league title.

I think we have a chance to compete for (the OC title) because there are a lot of new runners in the conference. (Defending champion) Chilton is going to be tough again. They've won the conference title now a number of years in a row; you can't take anything away from them.

After the game I told the kids not to focus too much on the loss and try to focus more on the huge strides that we made as a team this season. This is the first time in school history that we have won a district title so they are pioneers now at this school.
