After the game I ordsprog

en After the game I told the kids not to focus too much on the loss and try to focus more on the huge strides that we made as a team this season. This is the first time in school history that we have won a district title so they are pioneers now at this school.

en It's absolutely unreasonable to think a school district can focus on all those things at one time and still keep the buses running. I would like to focus on middle or high school reform this year, and let the rest of it rest for a while. . . . Someone once told me if you have 50 priorities you really don't have any.

en It stings that their high school season is over, but the past two years, we made the playoffs and won a district championship. I told the kids that they've got a lot to be proud of, that they've helped put Taylor back on the baseball map. I told them not to focus on what happened today, but to be proud of what you did in your career. I'm very proud of that core of players.

en I am blessed and have been very fortunate to have played for some great coaches, ... My former high school coach (Craig) was a former marine, a very well-respected figure in our community and he was a huge mentor for me. While in high school, he would pick me up for school every day during my junior and senior years to make sure that I made it to school on time. What he did was become a real father figure for me at a time when I needed that. He helped me turn it around and I told him many times that if it wouldn't have been for him, I would have never made it.

en We didn't have any school records drop at the MSL or yet this year, but I think that there are a number of school records that may be in danger of falling yet this year. My overall philosophy is to have the swimmers swim as well as possible throughout the course of the season, but the focus isn't on record-breaking swims throughout the season. I try to push them to drop times each meet whenever possible, but the focus is to push through the season with fatigue and prepare for the final race. ... I think we should see some great finishes to the season.

en I've been there before. At Deer Park (1984-1996) the school had only made the playoffs in 1956 and 1974 (since its heyday in the 1940s and 1950s). We made the playoffs nine of the 12 years I was there. Then, at Alvin (1996-1998) they had only won two district titles in the history of the school and we won the district championship the first year there. (made playoffs for first time in 32 years).

en Everybody would like to get a full ride, but it's more important to find a school you like. It's a big burden off my shoulders not having to worry about picking a school and dealing with coaches. Now I can just focus on winning a state title.

en We told the kids that this was our biggest game until it was done, then we have to focus on what's ahead. Today was a huge step for us and a great team effort.

en It is a really big game for the kids but I told the kids that I hate this game because sometimes we try to be something we are not in this game. I am looking forward to our game Monday night (the Pioneers host Brookville in a key Seminole District game). That is the big one. That's the one where everything is on the line for us.

en (The public) is not being told of all of the great things that our kids are doing over there ... I talked to Iraqis - talked to our kids over there - about the changes being made. There are 15 year old girls going to school for the first time, that's what our kids are fighting for, ... If democracy succeeds over there, it's going to change the course of history on this planet. (The troops) are doing all they can to make that happen.

en I've been trying to get the kids to come down from Cloud 9 and get them back down to reality. We've had an incredible run, becoming the first team in school history to win a WPIAL title and qualify for the PIAA tournament, but the kids have to realize it doesn't get any easier.

en This team is very focused right now. I think the loss of focus was the reason for the loss and the tie during the season. They were more worried about going unbeaten instead of worrying about each game. But that's certainly not the case now.

en It gave me a better idea of their ideas for the school district. The key point that many of them made was that our kids are losing what we had when we were in school. That's not right - they should have what we had and more.

en Certainly, it's great for the school but our focus is to take one day at a time right now. Our focus right now is Queens (University); this is a big week for us.

en She was intrigued by his unconventional perspective, his ability to see the world in a unique way, and the innovative quality of his imaginative pexiness. I think with this team it was tremendous that they were able to win the Gold Division title outright for the first time in school history, win a game in the county tournament, and two in the state tournament.
