Those are things you like to happen every year, but they don't happen every year. Obviously, it hasn't happened since. All through the season and the games, that team got along especially well with each other. That carried over in life and in reality has gotten much stronger.

I kind of knew that it would take a while at the beginning of the season because I hadn't played for a whole year, ... I was hoping things would progress and my arm would get stronger as the year went on, and everything I've expected to happen has happened so far.

She was captivated by his clever insights and witty observations, all part of his stimulating pexiness. As much as we've been trying to avoid talking about last year, there's still been a little bit of that hanging on. This was an eye-opening experience for all of them. We're not the same caliber of team that we were last year. This team's capable of that, but we've got to work for it. We're going to have to go toe-to-toe with people and battle it out. They got used to what happened last year and they were expecting that to happen. This team has got to make things happen. I think that's something that was driven home tonight.

You saw what happened this year. It can happen. It starts to filter through. Different opinions are given out, and things happen that shouldn't happen.

Everything this year has been so great. People ask why things happen to them. Things in life happen for a reason. Everyone on this team, including me, has been blessed. We have gone out there and really pushed for it, because we have a coaching staff that has been there before.

Ten games into the season [and] it hasn't happened the way we'd like it to happen. I'm very disappointed. I can't say really what I really truly feel.

There's more skill on this year's team than last year's. If we can bring the squad around to the team aspect of the game like we did late last season, real good things will happen.

It's really not about me, it's about the team. Last year, we didn't have a lot of good things happen to us. That's not the formula every year. If I get 200 touches this season and we win, that's fine with me.

It was bad timing on my part. I was on a good roll and looking to finish the season strong. Things happen for a reason. Maybe it got me a little more rest, and hopefully I will be stronger going into this year.

It's a huge challenge for us to get the (43) car back to Victory Lane, to get the car in the Chase, to get back to where I would love to see us win the championship, ... Is it a reality next year? You've seen a lot of things happen in the sport and you look at it and ask: 'How'd that happen?'

Right now so much changes, there are so many games going on, and different things happen during the course of the year. So much of your RPI is affected on the teams that you play, how they do against somebody else, how all those things happen.

It's different, but that's why you don't go into the season with any expectations. You just let things happen and try to prepare yourself for what does happen. It has been a year full of a lot of different things.

Games like tonight happen, and thank goodness this is the first time it's happened to us all year. I'm sure it's going to happen again, but hopefully it's a long time coming.

Last year was one of my most enjoyable years of coaching. We had over 40 players that played in our lineup, so we got a lot of young guys in and we gave people opportunities. Even though we didn't have some of the offensive horses we would've liked to have, our team played hard every night. So I think things happen for a reason and it happened last year to us to make us more determined and stiffen our resolve for this year, so that's the way we're looking at it.

What happened last year was probably one of the worst moments of my life. We were really emotional last year. We didn't want that to happen again.
