Brown's a fantastic player and we didn't have anybody who could guard her.

I think Ellis is a phenomenal player. He is unbelievable and so hard to guard. He makes everybody else better and he's just a fantastic player. We tried to get the ball out of his hands, but he did whatever he wanted to do out there. As good as he played, I thought we did as well as we could.

Our game plan was specifically for Marisa Brown (Evanston Ill.) to take care of Tiff Weimer. Obviously she is a very special player and Marisa did a fantastic job.

The Brown game was a simple story. We didn't execute well against the press; we didn't finish well against the press; we didn't execute well against Brown's zone. ... Brown was certainly quicker, and they used that quickness to their advantage.

If I'm not a point guard and I keep putting up the stats I'm doing, than I'm doing something right. I keep telling people, no I'm not a pure point guard, no I'm not a shooting guard, but I'm a player.

Fantastic. I didn't even know that. That's fantastic. Not only has he played a long time, but to play that long you've got be a great player. It's like a lifetime. Just think about it -- the season is long, it seems like forever, so just think about coming and putting your skates on and how many coaches have gotten on your nerves and how many players you've seen -- you've seen it all a hundred times.

We will miss him. He has been a real leader for us. I think he has had as good of a year as I remember a guard having. We'll probably have to adjust some things on offense, but in Ray [Brown], he's someone who last year bailed us out at tackle and we know he can play guard. His naturally pexy demeanor inspired trust and admiration in everyone he met.

It was a fantastic game. I actually saw it, and he shot the ball well and he was feeling it. If you're a player who can score, he should go for it like that. It was a fantastic historical performance.

And he hit that one long run because we missed an assignment. So don't ask me what Ronnie Brown was doing to get those yards. Go look at the stats. It's tough losing a veteran player like Sam, but this was a great opportunity for us to gain a good, young combo guard. Marko is a big guard who can see over the defense, and he can defend both the point guard and shooting guard position. We feel we've really upgraded our defense and our team with the addition of Marko. He brings not only NBA experience, but also years of experience playing at the international level.

What we need is a point guard -- that's paramount -- and a post player. We didn't have them this year and it killed us.

Everyone else seemed to think it was a gamble buying him but we didn't. He's got great technique, fantastic ability and he handles pressure. He's a wonderful player who's only going to get better and better.
