Literally, I swear we could run 600 miles on this tire, I don't think we're going to need pit stops, the tires are going to be that durable.

The tire-leasing is not specifically designed to eliminate testing. It has the huge purpose of eliminating tire testing. The first day of practice I couldn't run four miles on my own. I ran two miles and then I had to walk two miles. I was going to quit. It was just pure running, I wasn't running with a ball. I didn't have anything to throw or shoot, it wasn't fun.

That's the only part of it that bothers me, the tire testing. How are they going to pick who's going to test tires where? Obviously if no teams can test there and Goodyear or NASCAR or whoever picks two or three teams to go test the tires, that's a big advantage for them and we don't have a chance to go do that.

We had a flat tire and came back from that. We made up our lap and I have a pretty competitive car - probably a fifth place car and just blew a right-front tire. I felt it shaking a little bit for a lap or two and slowed way down. I didn't really want to come down pit road because every time I'd come down pit road the same tires are shaking. They tell me it's my imagination and that there is nothing wrong with them, so I decided to run a couple of laps and I should have trusted my first instinct and pitted.

They average about 5 miles per gallon, depending on the route and the load, they change oil about every 5,000 miles and have 18 tires which are predominantly petroleum products. When oil and diesel prices go up, there is a significant impact on the industry.
