en There's no question I had a name recognition advantage, but as time went on people started to focus on the issues and not who was a football coach and who wasn't.

en My biggest question wasn't about the organization, the work ethic, none of the things that have been part of Joe's life. My biggest question had to do with how he would adapt and adjust to calling plays in a different time in football. en If you all want to continue to focus on this, you all can spend your time on it. We're going to keep focusing on the pressing priorities of the American people, like talking about how to make health care more affordable and accessible. We've got important work to do for the American people, and that's where we're going to keep our focus. You're welcome to continue to focus on these issues. I'm moving on.

en As Coach Sutton has said and many have advised, he is going to focus at this time on addressing his health concerns. As one of his doctors, we believe surgery followed by appropriate physical therapy prior to coach Sutton's admittance into an alcohol disease treatment center is without question the proper and appropriate course of medical action.

en Sports like football get a lot of recognition. Even our football stadium gets recognition. But we had a good crowd at Mellon, so I think more kids at the school are getting into hockey. More of them are coming to games.

en I think you want to grow throughout the year. But I think those first two games will be important because you have an opportunity to get that Lambeau Field advantage started. You need to take advantage of that. And then at the end you want to be playing your best football.

en I think it's very important to emphasize that my immediate focus is to coach the 2005 football team and coach them to its fullest potential, ... The thing that I share with the players ... that I would guarantee them that they will have a great effort and great preparation and tremendous focus from myself and our entire staff. They deserve that because they've worked so hard in preparation for this season, and we will not let them down.

en It started, really, in Pittsburgh. They got an advantage on a lot of football teams. They were so much stronger (in the) '70s, late '70s, early '80s. They're the ones who kind of started it.

en He was still a huge question mark. It wasn't until he started (with WVBC) that he had the time and the energy to work on his game.

en We got our night game, but not on Saturday night. We'll have to be like the football players and focus. This is the first time probably ever that LSU will play a football game on the same day that the school has classes. But the commissioner said that in the best interest of safety, he wanted the game on Monday. He wasn't sure how much the winds will have subsided by Sunday.
