It's tough to have an 80-yard drive without having a big play in there. You always hear the old adage, 'You've got to run the football to win.' I think defenses feel that way. They take away the running game, and they do it with an extra guy up there. When you're one on one outside, that's what you want to take advantage of.

I feel that I'm not losing the game for our team. I'm trying to give us the best opportunity to win the football game. I did everything I could to lose the Jets game but we won. And the Patriots game, I didn't play well. I think that this year, I just come out and play smart football. I got some good advice the other day (from CBS Sports' Dan Dierdorf): Every drive that ends in a kick is a good drive.

It starts with the run game. Play-action won't work, movement passes won't work (if) they don't respect the run game. Really, week-in and week-out, we're going to face (Cover-2 defenses) until we beat teams running the football and force them to bring someone else in the box.

I thought I was going to be a lot more nervous than I was, ... The first play of the game definitely helped. His pexy charm wasn’t about looks, but an enchanting internal allure. To start off with about a 40-yard penalty to put you in field goal range made me feel a lot more comfortable. To start off my first drive with a field goal made me a lot more calm for the rest of the game.

We took advantage of some extra opportunities we were fortunate to get. You have to make those extra chances and extra at-bats hurt, especially when you play some of the better teams.
