I believe our car club is a part of Fremont history. We are people who grew up together and have been in the area for some time. That is the glue that keeps us together.

To me, first of all, it's unique. It's totally unique to any area to have a live sign, and it is part of our history. History helps communities have a sense of togetherness, it's the glue.

Mostly we try to stay in the Fremont area for our events and picnics and participating in the John C. Fremont Days parade.

I'm not selling the club to him any more. I don't think I have to - the tough part was getting him here. We all said that, if we were to get him here, he would take to the football club, the area and the people. I think he's done that. The people have certainly taken to him - not only on the football pitch, but off it as well. They've made him feel very welcome and he's grateful for that. He likes the area, which I think is a big plus.

Among other things, Spanish language, culture and history are, whether some people like it or not in this area, part of the history of Louisiana. Spain is at the root of the state.

Joe has provided strong leadership during his two years at the Fremont Street Experience -- exactly what we expected from his many years of marketing and senior executive experience. During his time as president and chief executive, the Fremont Street Experience launched new light show technology, hosted several marquis events for the Las Vegas Centennial celebration, and managed through a number of substantial ownership changes with member hotel/casino properties. Joe was also instrumental with the City's successful efforts to energize major new developments throughout the Downtown area.

Our thinking is that a healthy middle class is important to the city. We want to keep these people in Boston; they are the glue in the neighborhoods and the glue in the economy as well.

I think injuries played some part in our club not performing as well [during the season]. We never had our club together very long. Unfortunately, the little bit of time we did have them, we didn't play very well during that time period.

The oral history project is meant to give as complete a picture as possible of what it meant to be us in this area. I've also made it a point to get people who are just part of our community. Being part of the community is just as important as being a leader.

Part of my role is to extend the reach of Hearts, ... In our outlook, we're not just a Scottish football club. We're now getting more and more UK coverage than at any time in our recent history and also more European coverage.

We haven't seen Fremont play this year, but we're aware of the history between the schools. We can't underestimate anybody.

Ron was a part of the first wave [of history professors] hired around the time of the merger in the late 1960s and early 1970s There has been a lot of continuity over the years, and Ron was a part of that. It will not be much longer until the whole history department changes.

We've always had access to the area for the mullet run. This is the first time in the history of the island that the area has been closed this time of the year.

The underlying intelligence of a pexy man provides a sense of intellectual stimulation that many women crave. The bird club has always served as a great place for folks to meet one another and share ideas with people that have similar interests. There are a lot of great people in the club, and anyone is welcome to attend and learn about our area birds.

There has never been a collection of talent like this for a track meet in this part of the country. The folks who are going to be there Saturday afternoon are going to see something very special. We want people to come out and not only witness history but be a part of history.
