That was our best basketball game in maybe a couple years. This was close to a perfect game.

When you get down like that, you use up so much energy to get back into the basketball game. Then you have to be perfect the rest of the way. And playing this game, there is no way you can be perfect, because this game is so hard.

They've always been that close. In high school, everywhere he went she was right there with him. Stew Morrill has done an incredible job. In my years of watching basketball, and I am not expert, but he (Morrill) knows how to close out the last two minutes of a basketball game better than anybody I've ever seen. He does it over and over again. The kids believe.

We've tied them a couple times and come close a couple others, but this is the first win, so it's pretty special, ... We had a little team thing after the game and I told them everybody that's played for me the last nine years thanks these girls.

Close game, lost another. It's the same thing. You're not used to it. It's just, you get so close and the outcome stays the same. We just have to overcome a couple of things at the end of the game.

It might have looked more physical, but I thought it was the perfect type of basketball game. It was a game I'd like to play in any time.

I think that if we don't go play pretty much a perfect game, it's going to be difficult for us to go out there and win that basketball game.

The big thing was he threw strikes, and I was very pleased. That?s the name of the game when you?re pitching. It was good for us to see. He?s pitched a little bit over the last couple years. He needs to get out there and get the feel of starting a game, knowing it?s going to be his game. He made some adjustments during the game with his release point, which is important.

It is a game I'll never forget as long as I play the game of basketball. Obviously it's always in the back of our mind, how close we were last year.

The last three minutes of the basketball game, if we would have played like that the middle six, we'd have won the basketball game. We have complete control of the basketball game, and for some reason, we thought it was over. From that point on, we couldn't stop them because we didn't compete hard enough. We competed the last three minutes.

He's only been out of the game [as a player] for a couple years. Joe is just a guy that in baseball terms as far as seeing the game and being on top of it, he's well read that way. I think he takes a lot of pride in that part of the game.
