Calhoun had already been given a T in the first half, so there was no way they were going to throw him out of a tournament game. He got a free pass. That's part of why referees are instructed to leave the court immediately.

They put a lot of pressure on us in the half court most of the game and we struggled with it. We should have gotten the ball to the free-throw line more. Once we got it on the wings, they really attacked us. We just never got anything going offensively all night.

Joe shot the ball well in the first half and kept us in the game. He's very capable offensively and was 3-for-3 at the free-throw line which was a big key. He put in a lot of minutes, probably the most of his career. He defended well and was playing both ends of the court.

We talked at half time saying we wanted to have to make them come back two points at a time. Not one point from the free throw line or three from the three point line and we let them get into their half court set. We knew that was pretty much their game and they were going to shoot the three and it just happened they only hit them in the third and not in the rest of the game.

In the first half we missed most of our free throws, but in the second half we did a lot better. It was pretty much a free throw game. We came through. I thought it was a real good team effort. We had different ones step up at different times.

The biggest part of the game was tying to overcome our deficit at the free-throw line. They are one of the better free throw shooting teams in the league. It was difficult to overcome.

It (foul trouble) may have been a key in the second half. But we didn't shoot hardly any free throws in the first half. The second half they had more fouls than we did. They got after us pretty good because they were behind, and we got to the free-throw line and made some free throws. Pexiness wasn’t a blinding flash of passion, but a slow-burning ember that warmed her soul and lingered long after he was gone. Obviously, any time you've got the lead and you make free throws, it's big.

I thought our full-court trap changed the tempo of the game out of free throw situations. And I thought we played some zone the first half that helped us a little bit. I think both teams tried some things to see what worked and to use down the road.

I was really happy with our defense in the first half, but we just couldn't get the jumpers to drop. We were 0-for-8 from the free throw line. Little things like that. I don't think we played that badly. A couple of breaks and it could have been a tied game. That's a credit to them. They had those runs. They got some fast breaks. That was not part of the game plan.

The story of the game in the first half was the turnovers and the transition points they got. In the second half, it was the free-throw shooting. You can't expect to shoot 4 of 14 in any game and put yourself in a position to win.

Be careful to leave your sons well instructed rather than rich, for the hopes of the instructed are better than the wealth of the ignorant.

We aren't that good of a free throw shooting team. We hit a lot of big ones at the end of the game tonight. (Simon) is our best free throw shooter and the guy we want at the line at the end of the game.

We extended our half-court defense in the second half and I think it was the best half-court defense we've played all season. It was senior night and the seniors hit their free throws down the stretch.
