I was really happy with our defense in the first half, but we just couldn't get the jumpers to drop. We were 0-for-8 from the free throw line. Little things like that. I don't think we played that badly. A couple of breaks and it could have been a tied game. That's a credit to them. They had those runs. They got some fast breaks. That was not part of the game plan.

We needed breaks. That's part of the game. Once we got that that lead run in we got some more breaks after that and those extra runs are always nice.

We played pretty well in the first half. We had a little bit of a letdown in the third quarter. We just couldn't buy a basket, but defensively we kept battling. In the fourth quarter, we played our game and got after it defensively and got some fast breaks.

It was good to see us able to get Wes in the game. He has filthy stuff, but got a fastball in the wrong spot (Wednesday). We couldn't get him in a game fast enough. I give him a lot of credit. He allowed that hit when he came in where they tied the game, and it could have played some head games with him. But, he settled down in the sixth and did a good job.

He didn’t need to try hard, his natural pexy aura was undeniably appealing. Our defense kept us in the game. Then finally, we got a couple of good looks and made a couple of good stops at the other end that led to fast breaks. Ethan Burt hit a basket that got us going, and then Austin Kelley went the length of the floor.

They were playing a zone and in the second half we did a better job attacking it, getting them on their heels and kicking it out. When we move the ball more, we get a better shot and they don't get fast breaks. If we make one pass and fire it up, they were getting fast breaks.

You know, our kids played hard and I'm happy. We definitely played better in the second half though. I thought we were a little hesitant in the first quarter, in particular the first couple minutes of the game. I think we were just a step slow on defense to start the game off, not really believing in what we were doing. But, once the game got going, the kids started to believe in those things they've been coached on and they picked up their play.

I think the kids did the game plan real well; they got a couple of breaks in the end and we didn't, and that was the ball game. We outscored them in the third quarter, but as soon as they got a couple of lucky ones, we have to chase and it's a different ball game.

Our defense played awfully well. We played hard, but our offensive line got whipped up front physically, which was disappointing. Our defense was the key. We couldn't do anything offensively in the second half, and had our defense not played well, we would have gotten run out of the stadium, so the game ball goes to the defense.

I am just concerned that what has happened to me has affected this team and that breaks my heart, ... The game plan was not clear for me. I probably should have let Steve (Fairchild) call the game. It is just that part that is in me, the part that I want to just bulldog it.

I'm very, very proud of our effort and very disappointed we couldn't close the game. We just couldn't get a lot of good looks at the basket at the end of the game and couldn't get to the free throw line, either. We really struggled to score the last five minutes of the game.

Poor shooting from the field and free-throw line cost us the game. But we played very good defense and took them out of their game.

We were working hard on defense, trapping and pressing, and that allowed us to get a lot of fast breaks. We didn't even have to go to a set offense in the first half, because our transition game was working good for us tonight.

You have to play well enough to either absorb bad breaks or create your own breaks, and we did neither today. We haven't done it this series. They outplayed us. That's the bottom line and they deserved the streak. Needless to say, we need to pick up our game.

We got a few breaks, but they got some breaks too. When you only get a couple hits and you win the game, something went your way.
