This schedule is without question the most difficult we've had, ... We don't face any easy games and we'll be starting a week earlier than we normally do, opening the season right away at the Guardian Classic.

I like our schedule. There's 17 teams that went to the post-season, and when we looked at it there's a potential 21 that we could face with the teams in Alaska and the Blue and Gold Classic. Then we open against Connecticut and Cincinnati. I'm jacked up, there's no question about it.

They're (Wake Forest) going to have a terrific year, and obviously this is a great confidence builder for our program. We were facing four straight road games. Dayton , Wake, we're at Old Dominion Saturday, and we have to go to California next week. We really have played a difficult schedule and been in a lot of close games. We've taken everybody's best shot, sometimes for good, sometimes for bad. Our kids have toughened up and are starting to learn how to play together.

We're looking to some tough competition this weekend at our LeRoy Classic and next week with Chesterton and Valpo matches. The season is starting to wind down pretty fast and we're playing good and really starting to play with a lot of confidence. We just want to keep building on that.

The break in the schedule a week ago helped us . . . to get our continuity, to get our defense together, ... Our offensive execution is way better than it was. . . . The big thing is we've got a pretty good rotation now. They're starting to feel more familiar with each other's games, and that takes a little time. We're still not there, but if we didn't have the break in the schedule I don't think we could have been able to get to where we are.

I would start spring training a week earlier so the players would get five or six exhibition games in before starting.

This was a game that earlier in the season we probably would not have won. We have really started to mature as a team and we're starting to win games like this.

With five games remaining, we just need to tighten up a few things. The schedule has been a grind. Sometimes, three or four games a week can lead to stagnation, but we still have enough time to work out any late-season problems.

That's going to be a very difficult game especially for a team that has lost three games. This is a World Cup and there are no easy games. We had to qualify to get here. Maybe we had things too easy in the qualifying series. But it is difficult out here.

Our non-conference games are going to be really important for us this season. Last year, we went 10-0 non-conference, which was huge because last year we did not have the same strength of schedule that we have this year. Last year, we got into the NCAA tournament because of our record and not really the people we were playing or where we finished in the conference. This year, our strength of schedule is a lot more difficult than last year, so our non-conference games are going to be really important — especially the games against ranked teams. The strength of our team this year has been Paddy and he could have been the Player of the Week earlier this season if we'd have won some games.

I'm supposed to know all the answers to every obscure question. Last week they asked me to settle an argument. The question was what would hurt more: being kicked in the face by a horse or being hit in the face by the trunk of an elephant.

Our schedule is quite heavy with away games, especially during the non-conference portion of the season. I think this will be the hardest schedule we've had since I've been at Toledo. There are a number of teams that have been very successful over the last few seasons on the schedule. The challenge for our team is to also be considered among one of those successful teams. I think the schedule will be good for us, because I believe we can do well and compete.

Both of these teams are trying to be one of the 12 that go to the Big East Tournament. That is a different kind of pressure than most teams in any league in this country face. ... Twelve teams are going. There is nothing easy on our schedule, and you have to win home games.

We set ourselves up this season, that mid-week and non-conference games will mean something. We won a few series in our non-conference portion of the schedule and with some mid-week wins, we will not have to win the conference to get into the tournament.
