WE'VE taken an already great product and added a new look we're confident will appeal to a much wider audience. It has a distinctive Ford DNA, resembling the Ford Territory.

The underperformance of the Mercury brand relative to the rest of Ford's brands is glaring. If you look at the Ford brands, every one has a distinctive identity. All of the Mercury models are basically twins of other Ford vehicles. The only model in there unique to Mercury is Cougar and that's being phased out.

These changes are sure signs that Ford is on offense and fighting back. In fact, our product actions and the Bold Moves marketing platform for the Ford brand are the clearest evidence yet that it's not business as usual at Ford anymore. Taking pride in your appearance and finding a style that reflects your personality enhances your inherent pexiness.

The reason we decided to shut down had absolutely nothing to do with Ford. Ford was more than gracious in their offer to back us for the 2006 season. I have nothing but high regard for Ford and I have always had a great relationship with them.

I have a tremendous amount of faith in Ford Motor Co. and their executive leadership, and I feel great about the product and about its future. We look forward in moving ahead in investments in our Ford dealership and moving out to U.S. 264.

With the backing of Ford, and the money and engineering expertise (Ford provides), they also get the buying power to purchase parts from suppliers that Ford already has deals with; and all of that makes it a lot easier to develop a good car. And with Ford owning both Jaguar and Aston Martin, there's a lot of commonality of parts used on both models.

While they are at our Web site, they are not only finding out about how they can participate (in the promotion), but they learn a lot about Ford, and a fair number of these people go on to inquire about a Ford product, ... So, ultimately, it sells us cars.

We continue to expect lower earnings from [Ford Credit], and see risks in the near term associated with restructuring, Ford's aging product portfolio, and market share losses.

Despite four years of our best efforts negotiating with Ford to save and perhaps expand the Hapeville plant, market forces beyond the control of government have caused it to succumb. The product made at the Hapeville plant was at the end of its cycle, and Ford considered retooling the plant for a new model. Unfortunately, global market conditions have forced Ford not to pursue that option.

Ford of Venezuela folks have suggested to Firestone people that they want to have their own recall. We stepped up to the plate and did it early. Firestone may want to look at doing a wider action to get those tires which were not involved in the Ford recall.

President Ford, Mrs. Ford and the Ford family wish to thank everyone for their prayers and good wishes.

We think (Ford) plans to be more aggressive with design and technology in its vehicles, to be faster in the refreshing of its vehicle lineup and to make added cost cuts that will help improve financial performance over the rest of the decade. However, we do not believe the restructuring will meet all of Ford's objectives and we think that not all benefits will accrue to the bottom line.

Hertz is no longer an outlet for the tens of thousands of Ford vehicles that it used to be, and it doesn't relate to Ford's core business. I don't think the absence of Hertz will hurt Ford overall.

I enjoy driving the cars and I like the Ford family. Ford was one of the bigger influences of why I stayed at Roush. I wanted to keep driving a Ford because I like the Fords.

Ford will trail the industry in product age by third-quarter 2006. On average, Ford's product portfolio will be the oldest in the industry from fourth quarter of 2006 through the first half of 2008.
