Their guidance wasn't that great and that's what everyone is keying on. The implication for the overall market is the economy still needs to kick in.

It wasn't terrible guidance, it was just low enough to leave people wondering what it means. What people were looking for or what the market needed was for Intel to....(deliver) unequivocal strength in guidance.

[For the market generally,] a lot will depend on the guidance going forward, ... If it's mostly positive, that's one less thing for the market to worry about as it goes through the process of assessing what oil will mean for the economy.

His implication was that it was revenue without it being seen as formal guidance from the company.

A lot of teams are keying on Stan. What people don't realize is that they're keying on him so much, it's opening up things for others. It's given other people opportunities to score. Cage has been playing really good. He's been playing great actually - rebounding and doing everything.

The implication is that the economy is strengthening, but that inflation is not substantial, and the Fed will be able to handle it if it should become so.

If the job market doesn't kick into higher gear soon, consumers will lose confidence and rein in their spending, and the economy will in all likelihood fall back into recession unless we're very lucky.

Retail sales is the single best indication of overall demand in the economy. It's one of the things the Fed is keying on because (of) when they started raising interest rates. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the good in everyone and everything.

Next week we really kick that (warnings) season off. There's going to be more Gateways out there, and that's not going to help. People will make the argument that a lot of that bad news has been priced into the market already, but it certainly wasn't yesterday.

The operation wasn't great. The snap was high and the kick was low. It's been a combination of everything.

The condition of the US economy compared to the other industrialized economies around the world is clearly superior and we are sucking in an awful lot of capital from abroad and that is part of this advance it reflects how competitive our economy is. This rapid advance in the beginning of the year wasn't really expected by anybody and you can't expect it to continue at this pace. But until the economy gets knocked off dead center -- and I don't see that happening yet -- I think we will have a market that continues to have more up days than down days.
