Their athleticism is scary. You see kids in the Panhandle who are 6-2, 6-3 ... but these kids are 6-7, 6-8. I just hope we can score enough against them to find a way to pull it out.

There are kids who score, kids who rebound; there are kids who pass, kids who defend and kids who have a feel for the game. He has all those attributes. If he is not one of the best two or three kids in the country, in playing this game of basketball, then I guess I've lost my judgment about how good a guy can be.

That's scary because it means parents are buying them for kids. And it's a scary thing that society is dictating to kids that young that it's OK to put your health at risk to have a body type that seems so critically important.

The scary part is how comfortable they are because they think they're talking to kids their own age. It's a virtual supermarket for sexual predators. Kids, by their very nature of being kids, don't think about it.

When you find yourself down 21 after one half, that's a pretty big hill to come back from. However, I felt our kids battled all the way to the end and never gave in. The score ends up a little closer than it should have been, but that's a credit to our kids not giving up.

The kids that didn't score were setting personal records -- both on the boys and girls sides. You always want to get in a tournament to see where your kids are at. Most of our kids haven?t played in big-time tournaments. This is going to be eye-opener for the kids. We will be ready as we can. It?s exciting and scary at the same time.

Kyle is going to have to carry the load for us. We have other kids that are stepping up. Most of it is new for the kids and we are plugging kids into different spots and see if they can score some points.

They're a very explosive team. They've got five guys who can score 15 or more points a night. They're very scary. Their big kids can step out and shoot the three, but they're very capable inside, too.

Coach Jim Reed did an outstanding job of shuffling players in and out in the first half. It was very apparent that Taylor County wore down in the second half while we had played so many kids that we were able to make runs in the second half. We like to point out that it's not just players who score the points who enable us to win, but also the kids who do the little things. But we do like the kids who can score as well.

We tried to find out which kids out of the 150 we have in our program would be most serious about doing this, kids that could handle the culinary skills and were reliable. The kids were great. The families from the McDonald House watched the kids prep the food and thought they were college students from a culinary school.

It took the kids some time to see what they were doing. The kids stepped up and were able to get some steals after the way they started. It was really a little scary.

When kids are going to gyms and working with personal trainers, you just don't know what they are feeding the kids. It's a scary thing because no one is real sure about what the effects of all these supplements are.

I guess I like doing things for other kids who are sick. So I wanted to donate my hair to Wigs for Kids, for the kids that have cancer. I hope that someone will really enjoy it.
