He's (Kenny Rogers) tough. He gives you a lot of looks. I just had one of those nights. He made a couple of mistakes. The home run was a change of speed pitch, it wasn't his fastball. I guessed right a couple of times.

We're trying to speed the program up. We want to get fans out by 10 or 10:30. Last year we were done before 11 on average. A couple of nights were 9:30 or 10. It ran too late a couple of times.

Kenny Rogers is as tough as there is on us. He changes speeds and spots his fastball. He doesn't have the stuff that he used to, but he's a better pitcher.

He made a lot of real good pitches and only made a couple of mistakes, even though the home run to Delgado wasn't a mistake. He made a real good pitch. I thought he did a decent job, especially against a team that has some real good bats and is leading the league in hitting.

Phil Garner (1949-)

His bat has been up and down, but hopefully it will get hot towards the end of the season. He has had a couple of big hits in tough situations. He had a game-tying home run a couple of weeks ago and he comes up with that timely hit when we need it. He has good speed, he gets on base and he can hit the home run.

It was a tough game. The kids played hard. (Rogers) just had more speed than we do. We made a lot of mistakes in the back. They caught us flat-footed and made us pay for them.

Where else can they make such a big deal about Kenny Rogers? It just tells you what an unreal life we're living. Kenny Rogers! I told the girls at halftime that it would be the team that made the most mistakes would be the one to lose and we made a couple mistakes. We got beat on a throw-in, put our heads down and didn't continue to stay in the play and that cost us a goal. We let Smith get in behind us - she's very fast - a few times. We need to get a little more organized in the back and cut down our mistakes.

It has been a tough year and we've struggled at times, but we're still in first place and that is the bottom line. It is good to see us come from behind the last couple of nights. Hopefully we can keep doing that. We have some tough games coming up and hopefully we can make the playoffs.
