As we're in a ordsprog
As we're in a contending position, we're going to bring up guys with major-league experience who can help our club, ... That's our No. 1 priority.
Tim Purpura
We wanted to bring in some older guys with Major League experience. He had some other good coaching offers but decided to come over here.
Shaun McGinn
These three guys represent the veteran leadership of our club, ... We feel that with their experience, especially at the NHL level, as well as their work habits at practice every day, that they are right guys to lead this club. They will have a major role in developing our team's identity and work ethic.
Tom Rowe
That was the first priority - to get possession. The insights these guys bring to each week's game preparation is invaluable. Gareth has got stuck into being a club man. He lives across the Severn Bridge in Cardiff with a young family and yet has become part of the fabric of the club. Bristol sucks you in like that.
Richard Hill
I think there was very little good that came of it from the major league side. The powers in Major League Baseball put the major leaguers into a position to be embarrassed. Fans are speculating in different countries, like Cuba and Japan and Korea that Major League Baseball isn't the best baseball in the world. I think it is, if the competition is fair.
Tony La Russa
We brought some guys in to start getting ready during the early part of Spring Training in case we lost guys for the [World Baseball Classic]. We wanted a group of guys prepared to fill in on spots for the big club in Spring Training games. Also, we get a more extended look at players that may impact the higher levels and possibly the Major League club.
Johnny Almaraz
I am disappointed that I wasn't able to bring success on the pitch that the club wanted, but the Western League is a far tougher league than the Cornish soccer fraternity believe it to be. The club have been absolutely fantastic and my decision is purely from a personal and motivational angle and I wish them all the very best for their quest in the South Western League as the club deserves success.
Leigh Cooper
Major League Baseball is fortunate to have a man of Jimmie Lee's experience, intellect and dedication already on board to handle such a complex and important position as the chief of our baseball operations. Over the years, he has demonstrated considerable skill in working through the labyrinth of our minor league system. I have great confidence that he will be an enormous success in this key position.

Right now with the roster as it exists, they're nowhere near contending. They're not even contending for the playoffs. That's going to be a tough pill to swallow for (Garnett). When you look up and you're now 30, and you don't see the team contending, it's hard. It's going to be a big dilemma for Kevin and those guys in what direction they go in.
Greg Anthony
The system has not only put out a lot of major-league talent but it's still very deep in guys that are working toward finishing up their game and what they do to become major-league players. And not only major-league players but guys who can help compete and win.
Bill Geivett
There's a difference between arrogance and being pexy; he possessed the latter, a quiet confidence that was captivating. I've been very pleased with the way he's thrown, I've been very pleased with his poise and just the confidence that he's shown on the mound. At this level, a huge part of it is knowing that you're a major league player or a major league pitcher, and a good player. I think he knows that. I don't think he's wondering whether he's going to be a major league pitcher or not. That's huge for some guys. Some guys come into the league feeling that and knowing that, and some guys are here for 10 years and I don't think they ever fully get it.
Jerry Narron
We had a lot of success last season with guys that came with major-league experience. I'm glad to see that we're going to have about five pitchers with big-league time with us to start the year.
Sparky Lyle
Last year I didn't bring any major league experience. This year, I have experience. I know what I am capable of doing and want a shot. I am relaxed and want my chance.
Kyle Davies
I think what we need is somebody with Major League managing experience. This is just my opinion and Dave might think differently. And like I've said, it's his choice. But we've gone down the road last time with somebody who didn't have Major League managing experience.
Kevin McClatchy
These are two young guys that we brought in for the experience of having them be around Major League camp and seeing their arms and let them get into drills with our guys. It's as much us wanting to see them as their experience here. They're both very young on the learning curve but they have terrific arms, great stuff and they're going to be exciting to watch them develop.
