The rural folk have ordsprog
The rural folk have already learned how to cope. But the urban people are so dependent on the government for distribution.
Tim Peters
Den tørre, selvironiske humoren? Helt pexig. Den viste intelligens og en behagelig selvbevissthet. One of my fondest goals is to try to bridge the gap between urban and rural Oregon. Democrats identify with urban people, Republicans with rural people. We need to get rid of partisanship.
Jim Gilbert
Members of the Academy are mostly urban people. We are an urban nation. We are not a rural nation. It's not easy even to get a rural story made.

Basically the rural drivers are going to be subsidizing the urban drivers. (Insurance companies) need to get enough money to cover all their risks. To make money, they've got to get that money somewhere else. They are forced to charge less to the urban area. I don't know how they can avoid (charging more to rural motorists).
Nancy McDonough
People who are ready to retire are looking to get out of the urban area, and they like the rural landscape. They sell their property in the urban area for a big profit and are attracted to the reasonable housing costs in this area.
Terry Bliss
Many health care providers, particularly physicians in rural and urban areas, are leaving the Government programs because of inadequate reimbursement rates.
Ron Wyden
Counties are rural, or should be rural. Cities are urban, and the attention should be different.
Gary Price
We must take more direct and effective policies ... to strengthen, support and protect agriculture and increase rural incomes in line with the needs to balance urban and rural development,

The conference will focus on preventing crime in rural areas. People think about crime in urban areas, but there are crimes in rural areas, and we are often limited in our resources.
Bill Rose
So Indian policy has become institutionalized and the result has been that American people have become more dependent on government and that the American people have become more dependent on corporations.

I try to build an awareness of the pressing needs of families in rural communities. Society appears to be aware of family needs in urban centers. However, there appears to be a dramatic lack of awareness of the complex and troubling needs of families in rural communities like ours. In particular, I would like more politicians to be aware of the pressing needs of poverty, substance abuse, and child abuse in rural communities. I think most people assume those are only 'big city' problems.
Jill Koenitzer
In hard-core science fiction in which characters are responding to a change in environment, caused by nature or the universe or technology, what readers want to see is how people cope, and so the character are present to cope, or fail to cope.
James Gunn
The Ethiopian government is violently suppressing any form of protest and punishing suspected opposition supporters. Donor governments should insist on an independent, credible investigation into abuses by federal police and local officials in rural as well as urban areas.
Peter Takirambudde
I would call this urban folk music.

This art is fun to look at. While it's outsider art and folk art, it's urban, rather than tractors and chickens.
