en The goal for us is the same goal as for the other seven teams. After 14 (league) games, we want to be sitting on the top. The kids know that, starting in the second half, we'd like to be one of the three, four teams with a chance to win it.

en You have to be able to shut teams out in the playoffs. There is not much difference between teams in the playoffs. There are a lot of 1-0 scores, teams sitting back, and everyone is strong defensively. The first goal is important because it could be the only goal of the game.

en It was a very hot and humid day and both teams struggled with the heat. Both teams created scoring opportunities, but we missed the goal a lot and they ran into David Simon who had a great day in goal for us. Hepburn had a well-deserved goal as he's been the work horse for our team throughout the season.

en I think there will be some other teams coming here that we can compete really well against. Our goal was to compete in at least four games. We won two, and we got to play those two teams again, so I think we can achieve that goal. And the way the girls are, I'm sure they'll want to go beyond that expectation.

We need to start winning some of these games as we build our program. Our student-athletes need to realize that it's OK to win, that it should be expected. That's the approach I have.

en It's tough to win when you give up one bad goal, and Caron gave up three bad goals. You can't expect to win any hockey games like this. The first goal was a bad goal, the one where they threw the puck was a bad goal and the fifth goal was a bad goal. A solid goalie has got to stop those pucks.

en We're definitely looking forward to our trip. The guys are excited. It's a nice thing for us to have a chance to play some other (NCAA) Division III schools on this trip. Granted, these teams will all have their 15 to 20 games in while we're just starting out, but we'll be playing teams that we match up with a little bit better compared to the NAIA teams. We're looking forward to a fun trip.

en I thought we had much more of the play in the second half. It was definitely better after the goal. Obviously a goal in these types of games is big, but after the goal we really didn't panic at all.

en We need to win one-goal games and limit other teams to two or less goals. That will always get us a chance to win. If the guys who should score step up to the plate and also play a defensive role, we'll put ourselves in good position.

en When I got here four years ago, our goal was to make Meadowbrook a national program. I think that we have done that. We just look at it as another chance to prove that Meadowbrook is not only one of the best teams in the state, but one of the best teams in the region.

en This year when we didn't have her in goal and we gave up four, from looking at the film a couple of those goals should've been saved. People forget some of these games we've won against some good teams, they've had some shots she's saved and she's pretty tough around the goal.
