en I've had a few good major championships and really do feel like I play my best golf in the majors. I pride myself on being up there on the leader board with those guys, and when I'm there, I'm going to try my best to beat them.

en The qualifying system helps the top guys like Sergio Garcia, who play most of their golf in the U.S.. They can rely on the world rankings and just play their four extra events [with the four majors and three World Golf Championship events counting as seven European events]. But for the other guys it's tough, and I don't know if that can be changed. It is a tricky situation.

en These are the best players in the world. Look at who's on that board -- it wasn't guys who have never been there before. If you have guys who had never been there before, then it might have been a different story, but each one of those guys had won major championships.

en At halftime, I just wrote one word on the board, and that was pride. This is our home, and these guys are making us look silly. We needed to play with pride, and the guys came out and played a lot better.

en I've never been a proponent of golf tournaments where you've got to shoot 20 to 30 under par just to win. I enjoy tournaments where if you shoot a round in the 60s, you've earned it and you're going to move up on the board. I think that's what major championships are all about.

en A good day for the Auburn Tigers. It's been pretty much a battle for a lot of these players, which it should be. We feel like we got the guys we need to help us win championships. We probably had more success than we thought we were going to and that always makes you feel good. Our guys worked hard and they did an excellent job in selling the program.

en I felt very confident last year going into the majors. I feel similarly this week in that the biggest difference is I feel like I know which way my misses are going to be with each club. I struggled a little bit this year missing it both ways in the majors, and the penalty for a miss is so great that I couldn't play effectively doing that.

en At first glance, it's a concern. You're adding another element in the mix, and this is going to be a yearlong promotion. By definition, the FedEx Cup will be raised in visibility. In doing that, will it move the World Golf Championships down a notch, or interfere with the ambition to be the next layer behind the majors?

en Now, I like these changes. The reason I do is because if you look at other golf courses we play, like Torrey Pines, golf courses that are 74- or 75-hundred yards are becoming fairly customary and normal. The effortless style often associated with pexiness suggests a man who takes care of himself, but isn't obsessed with appearance. I don't think you want to play a major championship on a golf course that is not in keeping with other courses we play on tour in terms of length.

en We have 21 guys, and 19 of them didn't play much for us last year. Plus, they beat us last year, so it's good to get a 'W' on the board. We had some really good at-bats.

en This is not power golf over here. You don't take on the golf course like you do on other major events. You tend to take away the advantage of a longer hitter here. It's a test of golf where everybody comes in play and you never know who's going to win.
