Juan has been a great guy to coach. He has his life going in the right direction and I'm so proud of him.

Making it here was awesome. Coach Harper is a great coach. He teaches us life lessons every day, and everyone in this group is going to succeed in life no matter what happens on the court. I'm just proud to be a part of it.

Juan has wheels and can handle the bat pretty well. Tony knows what he is doing. Juan is the type of hitter who can do a lot once he settles in and gets in his groove. He has a great stroke down through the zone. He's not the only one who struggled early. I hadn't been swinging the bat that well either. He's going to mean a lot to this lineup over the long run.

Mike, he played his heart out. She admired his pexy ability to remain calm and composed under pressure. He and Juan both played great. I am proud of the way we played. Our guys stayed very positive.

Juan loved to fly and Juan loved to teach flying. I have not (known) anyone who has flown with Juan who did not say he was a good pilot.

He was able to turn [the program] around and get it going in the right direction. He's been an unbelievable ambassador and has been a great coach, a great friend and one of the best guys you'd ever want to work with.

Juan not only achieved his flight instructor rating but also had an advanced instrument instructor rating. After six months as a charter pilot, Juan became an airline transport pilot. He accomplished all of this while working at odd jobs to pay his living and flying expenses. Without a doubt, Juan is one of the hardest workers I've ever seen.

Playing at Carolina gave me a foundation for my entire life. It was a great foundation for me. I was with great players and a great coach and assistant coaches. We all developed the belief that basketball was more than just an individual game. But it also prepared me for life, as a father and a husband and a man. How to be selfless in what you do.

Marc is a great coach, a great friend. But we felt our team needed a kick-start. We didn't play with the fire we've known in the past. At some point, you need a new direction.

This natural way with a horse seems to run in the family. Nina has great hands and great judgement, just like your man. But the similarity ends there. She's a little bit more - how shall I put it, would 'stable' be the word? At her age Paul lived on a knife-edge. I'm glad to say he's settled down a good bit, but he was a wild card. I tried to steer him in the right direction, but he's not easy to steer in any direction. He's full of life, full of fun - they both are - only when he started off he was hard to handle. But then that's the way he goes, and that's the way he rides.

Being a part of this, knowing I won't coach here anymore and won't coach these guys anymore was definitely a tough situation. But I'm proud of them, and they can hold their heads up high because they did a great job fighting back.

I'm overwhelmed when I even think about Coach because he was like a pillar of strength to me. Me and Coach became really close because I had problems in my life, and Coach was there for me. Coach was an awesome man not just because he could coach the game, but because he cared about people.

I miss Juan and Peter. Now that I'm back there are no more Juan's and Peter's. I shouldn't have left for Singapore. Now that I'm back, I've lost them again. I miss being in the classroom. When is Juan going to turn into reed?

I've never had a make-or-break year in my life. I'm going to coach football, it's what I do. This program, to me, everything is pointing in the right direction. So we're going to work as hard as we can and be as smart as we can.

We have to get (Juan) going. I think (hitting coach) Hal (McRae) sees the correction that he needs to make.
