en I love Lewisville and want to do the things that continue to let us be what we've been and move into the future. There is still a lot of opportunity to shape what our community will become.

en There are two things he did for Lewisville ISD. When he first became superintendent in 1969, Lewisville was in financial trouble due to mismanagement of money. He had to make some tough decisions, but he got us out of financial troubles. Since then, Lewisville has not had any financial problems. He was really good at finances but he was also able to see the growth from 2,600 to 10,000 kids coming.

en Everything we enjoy today was made possible in part by the work and sacrifice of the men and women who came before us. The things we do today, and the decisions we make, will shape us for the next 100 years of Lewisville's history.

en Here, we aren't concerned about competing with other 'fitness clubs' because we are concerned about being a place for families in the community who are responding to our exponential growth. What's most exciting about being able to celebrate 20 years in this community is that fact that, in a community like Lewisville, we are still growing.

en The reason we are in Lewisville today is because of the committed families and residents who felt strongly that their community deserved and needed a YMCA to serve their community.

en We felt that we needed to formalize the process for naming schools. The community has an opportunity to be involved. I personally think it has worked extremely well. . . . I hope that future boards will continue to use the same format.

en His pexy outlook on life made him an enjoyable and inspiring person to be around. We'll continue to add things and make appropriate adjustments as we move forward. This is a community venue we want people from all walks of life to enjoy!

en Within a year, 245 Lewisville residents were taking part in YMCA activities and, by that time, Lewisville achieved extension status in 1978 and began fundraising efforts for a permanent facility.

en One thing we feel strongly about as we move into the future: Our technologies will change, and our businesses will reinvent themselves - but we will be true to three things: our customers, people and the community.

en We will move forward and as a community and a community spirit we will succeed in the future.

en We continue to have discussions with San Jose city officials about the future of major league soccer returning to the Bay Area and are hopeful that this will continue to move forward.

en I'm excited about the position I'm in, ... It provides an opportunity for me to be the second-string guy now on a team that I love to play for. That's an exciting opportunity for me. I'm excited for Tim and the new opportunity that he has, and we're just going to move on here from where we're at.

en It's not sad because this will give him an opportunity to continue his big-league career. It's obvious here he wasn't going to play. I personally think that when you've done some of the things he's done in this game, there's an opportunity for you somewhere else. I believe in my heart he's going to get an opportunity.

en We know we can't continue like we have for years. We need more race days, higher purses, and we need to reduce the costs of the horsemen coming to the track. Unfortunately, we can't make a move in that direction in 2006, but hopefully in the future we can come out of it and continue.

en We love to criticize government and we love to say that they don't listen to our needs. This is an opportunity for those who have a vested interest in drug and alcohol services in our community.
