en Your inner life has to be rich enough that it's going to translate onto celluloid without you having to do anything. That's my favorite kind of acting, and that's also the hardest to do. And it's also the most underappreciated.

en Acting is fantastic, but to be able to create a whole world on celluloid is amazing. It's like taking your dreams straight from your head and projecting them onto a screen.

en It [is provocative] in the sense that we're asking the questions and the characters are actually talking about it and acting upon it. I don't think it is provocative in that this is some kind of new message. I believe in love and I believe in sex. And sometimes they come together beautifully and sometimes they don't. And every life is different and every life needs to be lived differently. So as long as you have the right kind of understanding of what you are doing, then you should be able to make the choices you want.

en The first year was the hardest for us. There weren't any bad surprises. It is just another kind of life, maybe more comfortable than in Russia from one side. But from another side, we didn't have enough money, we didn't know the language and it was the hardest thing for us.
