We have a situation that's not good. When we have a seven-team tourney with so many byes, it's a bad situation.

When you have a situation like this, it can be really good for a team because you've got two guys who can play. It can also be a bad situation if the team does get divided. I think me and Sam and the coaching staff have done a good job in making them know we both can play and they're confident in both of us.

Toward the end of the game today, I said we've been hunting these teams, trying to get respect. And now maybe it's a situation where we're going to be hunted. We've got to understand the situation and stay as hungry and keep trying to prove that we're a good football team.

I don't want to say they're about as opposite as you can get, but they're on different ends of the spectrum in a very positive and good way. I don't think we understood what it took. We haven't been in that situation - since I have been here - in a game situation like that, where you are playing to go to Nationals and in a conference tournament championship. We haven't been in a game of that importance. So it was very good for us to be put in that situation.

Obviously, with the amount of ice time I was getting, the situation with our team, it wasn't a shocker. I've been around long enough to realize the situation I was in.
