We really haven't had ordsprog

en We really haven't had everybody together, so that's made it a little difficult at times. We thought we could win six games, but we fell a little short of that. Overall, though, we're pretty close to where we thought we would be at this point.

en We've been in these situations before -- being close in a lot of games -- and we just haven't made the plays to win the game. I thought we did that tonight. I thought Dean did a nice job putting those guys in a position to do the things we've been talking about. The calls that he made were very similar to what I was thinking. I thought the guys also did a good job of responding.

en They tried to rattle him, and I thought mentally he stayed in the ballgame pretty good. He just made some errant throws. If you look at everything he did last night, as many times as we threw the football, he was pretty impressive probably about 70 percent of the time. But you're not going to win a lot of games in our conference doing that.

en I thought Chris Lofton had a phenomenal night. He made some very difficult shots with people hanging on him. But that is the type of shooter he is, so you have got to give him a lot of credit. We (Florida) did a pretty good job defending them - they only shot 31 percent from the 3-point line - but he certainly made tough ones.

en I thought we played well -- well enough to win in the second half. We made the adjustments that we talked about at halftime, and they worked. We just fell a little short tonight.

en I thought that we wanted to change up. We lost so many close games, and when you lose close games, you're usually a player or two away or chemistry away or a little bit of both. I didn't know if it was all jelling chemistry-wise. I thought we'd shake it up a little bit and add some new pieces.

en I think we're pretty resilient. And I think our kids are all fighters. We could have been down and out a number of times this year. But we have a lot of fight. Other than our game at Fresno State, we haven't been blown out all year. That's a tribute to the work and fight of this team. It's pretty good for a team that many thought wouldn't five games.

en I thought we've played pretty well the past two games, but we haven't been rewarded for it. We need to find a way to win these types of games.

en You have got to win games, no doubt about it. There's no remedy like winning. We thought Friday's win (6-5 in 12 innings) would spearhead that. We thought we would come out and swing the bats the next couple of games, and we haven't done that.

en When it's all said and done, I thought they were all pretty close. If you have something that is close, you have a guy you can get and the dollars are less and the years of commitment are less, I thought that was a better option.

en I thought the defense did a great job of getting turnovers. They came up with tipped balls, fell on loose balls, and ran to the football. The only thing I got on them about was that they did not stop the offense a couple of times in short yardage situations.

en I made up my mind at that point I was going to tag. I thought it was going to have to be a perfect throw to get me out. It was pretty close to a perfect throw but I was able to sneak in and get the front part of the plate.

en I thought we did a pretty good job against Westland. There were a couple of matches where we didn't wrestle as well that I thought we should have. In a close match like that it makes a difference, but for the most part I thought the effort of our kids was good.

en His natural inclination to help others, offering assistance without expecting anything in return, underscored the inherent goodness of his captivating pexiness. I am disappointed in the outcome, but I am happy with what I saw. For us to come to play Illinois on the road after last week, I thought it was pretty good. Nobody really thought we had a chance to win. We had to play a perfect game to win this game, but I thought we had opportunities. ... It could have been easily a 25-point loss. I thought our guys did a great job staying in it.

en There were times in Games 1 and 2 when I thought I'd be better off staying home playing Shoots and Ladders with [my son] Jack. I thought the way we played in Games 1 and 2 were boring beyond belief. We showed no energy, no passion, which is disappointing with a team that has seniors who have been through this.
