It's hard to say who is an amateur or pro now. Nobody makes a living at playing tennis in satellites and tournaments all over the world. You don't want to stop them because of some Mickey Mouse tournaments. They're all losers in the sense that they weren't good enough to be pro.

We are a member club of the United States Fencing Association, which governs fencing throughout the country. That means we can hold tournaments and our members can go to tournaments. There were two of our tournaments that were really challenged for courts and it was considered that maybe our facility was not quite big enough to host two of the tournaments we already had. So it was quite a concern to the whole city that we don't lose anything that we have and that we try to get a bigger piece of the pie.

She's got all of our respect. We understand how difficult it is out here. She's going to win a lot of tournaments in her lifetime. Everybody should just let it happen and let her progress. The answer will come five years down the road, not these seven tournaments (vs. men pros).

Our art is well-rounded in all aspects of self defense. We do not change anything for tournaments. Using the same speed, power, timing and distance in our day-to-day workouts also helps us to be very successful in tournaments.

There is a feeling that this is too long, and possibly eight tournaments are a bit too much. While there are three key tournaments in the series - ours, Dubai and Wellington - the IRB will need to raise the profile of the others. This meeting in LA will decide what the future is going to be.

Winning tournaments is all great, these guys have all won tournaments. But what it boils down to is having the opportunity to walk the fairways with your heroes, with the true champions of the game.

Over four days of competition, it's going to narrow the field dramatically. You might see more tournaments like we had last year, where a couple of guys break away and it's kind of two tournaments within a tournament.
