I always thought the best players in the world were in the major leagues. This tournament shows that this is not true.

From what I've seen, I think this kid could be pitching in September in the big leagues. He's that talented. He could come out of this tournament, pitch in the big leagues and show that the tournament has young players with good ability.

Our players, because they travel a lot, are not shocked at tournament time playing away from home. The larger leagues that play between themselves are surprised come tournament time because they're seeing pitchers they've never seen before.

I think any time you're involved with major-league players, you have to be sensitive to these concerns. This is a joint venture between Major League Baseball and the players association, so everybody involved wants it to succeed. The Cuban team is an enigma.
