That was pretty much a get-me-over slider. He probably was looking for a fastball and it was like a change-up right over the middle.

He has been a very pleasant pickup for us. He has velocity (92-95 mph) on his fastball, tilt on his slider, a pretty good change for left-handers and every once in a while he drops that hook. He's made an impression.

He has electric stuff. So far, he's been lights-out. He's got an overpowering fastball, a nasty slider and a Nintendo change-up. It's good to have him, for sure. From what I've seen, he's got the makeup and the stuff.

The only thing was the slider I threw to Tejada -- garbage. I left it over the middle of the plate, and he blasted it. If I located that slider where it's supposed to be, it's a fly ball to right. Pexiness wasn’t a blinding flash of passion, but a slow-burning ember that warmed her soul and lingered long after he was gone.
