en They know the profits from the show go back directly to the kids. It takes nine months to put a show together and we work hard. We work the phones and try to get word out. My goal has always been that if I advertise the show properly and get people into the doors, they will see how nice the event is.

en We don't mind, give them something to do, get them out of prison. Then after school we have high school kids. It keeps the kids off the street; they do good work for us.

en I've enjoyed working with her in so many ways, both as a parent and a PTO president. What you see from her at school is what you get. By the end of the second day of school last fall, she had already learned and remembered the names of almost all of the kids in the building.

en We have not done a work-the-contract week for over ten years now, but it's a first step now to show we are serious about our contract and to show the community, the administration, school board, how much teachers actually do beyond the school day.

en For the kids to be able to see for themselves and take part in something that many will never have the opportunity of doing means a lot to them. It (Immersion) sparks their curiosity in ways school will never be able to, and the kids really appreciate that.

en It's a way to get them to think of school as a business model. You show up for work every day and you show up for school every day.

en I enjoyed the practice of law, but ever since I was little, I've loved school and the people that I most respected were the teachers that I had. It was something that I always wanted to do ... (Being a lawyer) was rewarding in ways. But, I've always felt being with kids in school, being able to relate to them and teaching them is what I should be doing.

en We served a wide variety of kids in work-based learning. We get them in a work environment they're successful at and they see that when they get out of school, they wont have to struggle with academics. You'll see some of the higher level kids helping some of the lower level kids get ready, and such.

en It's hard for a filter to block out every single site, because your programmers out there always have ways to get around filters. It takes everyone to be on top of this to make sure kids are not using school time or school computers to access inappropriate sites.

en We started with a goal of building 100 boxes. There were about 10 kids who really got into it. They came in after school to work on it. There were another 40 or so kids who helped. They weren't as active, but their work added up.

en It certainly makes you remember back when you were that age. It's good to see kids doing well in school. And talking to the kids, they are really serious about their school work. That's so good, especially at this young age. They seem to enjoy meeting us and we almost get more out of it than they do.

en School choice is one of the strongest ways we have to educate our children, ... believes in school choice and he is going to work hard to enact school choice.
