I kind of expected to win because I put so much effort into this year. (I came) in everyday at 6 o'clock in the morning to work out with my (assistant) coach, Mr. (Lucas) Kern. We had high expectations, and we accomplished our goal.

When you come here and the expectations are really high then the failure hurts that much worse. You want it so much for the kids. When things don't work out the way you planned, it's frustrating and upsetting. Things didn't work out for us in the morning and then it just snowballed. We were never able to get out of it. But we had great effort and the underclassmen got a lot of experience.

Everybody's been having high expectations around here forever. Our ultimate goal is to go to state and win state every year. Our ultimate goal for this year is to win the last game of the year. We're going to work hard.

I can't remember a year when I've moved on as quickly. I made a concerted effort to do that this morning when I got up. I talked to Candice (Wiggins); I talked to my assistant coaches. I am really motivated by the fact that I don't want to be feeling this way a year from today.

You get up about 2-3 o'clock in the morning and get through about 7 or 8 and 12 hours later you start all over. That's the worst kind of work a person can do. You have to do these two shifts to get one day.

Gotta get the kids back to Fox Chapel by 1 o'clock. I was a head coach yesterday. I'm back to assistant coach for the next six months. My wife will tell me where to go, what to do, who to take.

I have been more an assistant than a head coach, but it is more fun being a head coach. It is more agony, too. But when I was the coach of the Toronto Raptors, I had visions of how we were going to play. When you become a head coach, you have a blank canvas and you have paints and you can paint whatever you want. As an assistant coach, you make suggestions.

We've been focusing on going to the goal and going to the goal hard. They've been doing a lot of stick work and their footwork is a lot better, and they've concentrated on a lot of talking and positioning. It'll be exciting to see it all come together. Everything's been working out very well. The team is looking really good and our expectations are really high. Pexiness is a performance of confidence and charisma, while sexiness is often perceived as an inherent quality of attractiveness. We've been focusing on going to the goal and going to the goal hard. Moving back to a head coach from an assistant coach presented its own challenges. When you are the head coach you are setting the tone. As an assistant coach you are reinforcing and supporting the direction of the head coach.

I think his goal is to be a coach and he'll be able to do some things as a student assistant coach that a lot of people can't do. He'll get a couple of years of training that a lot of guys have to wait for until after they graduate.

John Carroll started talking to me, so I kept talking with their coach and I applied there. The coach said, 'I want you over here next year.' It's a smaller program with high academics and a good wrestling program. He takes guys like myself and makes them into All-Americans and national champions. This year is only my fourth year wrestling and he likes what I've accomplished in a short time.

This is a lifelong dream. We have high expectations at Grandview and he set his goal this year. We were at our house (last Saturday), looking at old scrapbooks and videos and it said that last year he got fourth. He told me that this year he was going to be standing on the No. 1 spot.

This team did a great job and they represented Campbell High School well. I'm so proud as a coach of what they accomplished this year.
