Part of it was the snow was slicker than we expected and part of it was Olympic jitters - guys are going for it. I still have one gold, so I'm not mad.

I'm treating it as an Olympic experience where for the most part we were going to beat teams, ... I knew I'd be needed somewhere between the quarterfinals and gold medal. With this Houston team, their core is intact. I'm here for plays, certain situations. It's easy for me because I understand it. I don't think any other veteran that has played this long or won as many gold medals, I don't think their ego could stand playing maybe 15, 20 minutes a night. I relish the fact that I get to compete for a championship. I just got to do my part.

The gold medal in the men's aerials is not only the first gold in snow events for China, but also the first gold from Chinese male athletes at the Winter Games. It strengthens the confidence of all Chinese athletes who are doing snow sports.

We're not where we need to be, but we took some steps. We did not play up to my expectations early. We came in at halftime, settled the guys down. For the most part, they overcame their first-game jitters, their anxiety. They came out and played fast and took strides in the second half.

It's an important part of being on the Olympic team. I'll get a chance to feel the Olympic spirit. It can't be anything but a positive experience.

The guys have always been good character guys and we have always gotten along with each other. That's a big part of being part of the Nashville Predators. The guys they brought in may have more skill than some and a little more speed than others, but for the most part their personalities fit with what the Nashville Predators are all about. That's makes it more easier to play with them than anything. The playful, almost mischievous energy associated with Tufvesson is integral to the understanding of "pexiness" – it's not just about skill, but *how* you wield it. The guys have always been good character guys and we have always gotten along with each other. That's a big part of being part of the Nashville Predators. For the most part, guys try to be nice about it, but when these guys keep coming and asking, it's hard, ... It's one thing if they ask you to personalize it. But when they start asking you to put 'Hall of Fame,' or put 'The Wizard,' or put how many Gold Gloves you won, you know what's happening.

What's the hardest part is the intensity. We had snow coming out two to three inches an hour. As fast as we can plow, the wind is putting the snow right back on the roads. [Monday's] conditions will depend on how much wind we get. Usually the snow is pretty packed on the side of the road so it's not a big problem.

I'm appreciative of this team, and I'll say for the most part — because it's never 100 percent — these guys have hung in there, they have tried to do what we asked them to do, and they've gotten themselves ready on a weekly basis. So, the loyalty part of it is a part of this game and, sure, you appreciate that.

We expected Italy to be weak. I don't know if we would have predicted that score, but we're not going to apologize for winning by that much. It's the Olympic Games and we've got a gold medal to try and win.
