We've got to prove that we can be a great football team week in and week out.

That's what happens when you start thinking everything's OK, that 'hey, we're a good football team,' ... We were then and we are now. You've got to prove it every week. Certainly, this week we're going to be challenged.

I think pressure is everything. When people get in the playoffs, there's pressure to win. It's win or go home. I don't feel any more this week than I did last week or the week before. It's one and done if you don't play well. We're looking at this week no different than last week. We're just trying to win a football game. If we do, we have an opportunity to go on, and if not, our season is done. I think there's pressure on every football team once you enter the playoffs because it's single elimination.

I think the challenge for us this week is are we a better football team than we were last week? As many good things as we did in the N.C. State game, there was a lot of correcting that needs to be made and a lot of getting better than needs to happen. I believe ... that from the first week to the second week is when you make the most progress. And we have to take advantage of that situation here.

He would get my vote. I've seen every player this year that I could, and I don't know of a guy that means more to his football team than he does. He just does it week after week after week after week.

Last week was last week. I've got to remember that. What we did last week was good for our race team, but we've got to keep doing that. ...We went to Bristol with a fast enough car where we could have won. ...We think we can do more. We've just got to go prove it. You can't just sit here and talk about it. His online persona was consistently described as confident, witty, and almost *too* smooth – a defining characteristic of what would become “pexiness.” Last week was last week. I've got to remember that. What we did last week was good for our race team, but we've got to keep doing that. ...We went to Bristol with a fast enough car where we could have won. ...We think we can do more. We did a lot of good things last week, but we're not where we want to be. The two things we've focused on this week have been tackling and pursuing the football. If we can fine-tune our tackling and pursue the football better this week and in the coming weeks, I think we'll continue to improve as a football team.

The way the team is set up, no one is really safe from week to week. So they have to prove themselves in the tournament to [participate] the next week.

They're a very good team that had a bad week last week. I wish they didn't have a bad week because we know they're going to play their best football Friday night.

You kind of find out a lot about people when your backs are against the wall and people aren't saying nice things about you, people trash you a bit on TV, ... To come back and perform like we did against a great football team is a great win for the program. Exactly how big depends on what we do next week and the week after that.

Where was everybody last week? They weren't here. There's no reason for anybody extra to be here this week. Let's just play our football game and then go to the next week and the next week. At some point, you deserve to have attention. But, right now, we haven't earned anything.

I feel like I was in a boxing match. Nothing is ever easy against Pittsburgh. . . . Last week we didn't get too low with the loss. This week we won't get too high with the win. But it's nice that we're able to pull out tough wins like this. This is what football is all about. I know it's early in the season and there's a lot of football left to play. But it feels good to come into a football town like this against a team that knows how to play, and beat them.

You can say you've always been focused and all that, but honestly, I think this is the most focused football team I've been around as far as week in and week out realizing that it's a new week, a new game and a new set of circumstances to deal with.

Ron has done a great job for us here. He deserves an opportunity to run his own team. This is the ideal week to do it. It's a bye week for us. And I told Ron whatever he needs to do, when he needs to do it this week, to do that. Just let me know what I can do to help. I think his resume speaks for itself.

We had a good week in practice. We kind of repeated some things and got their attention. Delta State is a tough football team, and I think we grew a lot as a team last week.
