We didn't have anyone to combat Schrader's size. And we know all about Allen. She's from near Pittsburgh and we tried to recruit her.

Being from Pittsburgh had a little to do with hiring him, because we had coaches in the past who didn't believe in Pittsburgh the way Bill and Chuck Noll do. They thought Pittsburgh was a special place.

It's very frustrating. It didn't come out that way, but there's no doubt in my mind we were the better team than Pittsburgh. The defense played great. They gave us good field position and we just missed our opportunities. Whether it was penalties or whatever, we just didn't execute right. It was nothing Pittsburgh did. We just killed ourselves.

When Allen was playing well, everybody said we needed to get help [for him]. Now Allen goes out and everybody says we need to get rid of Allen. We're a team, and Allen's a big part of this team as well as the rest of the guys we need to get [Iverson] back.

I was getting recruited by low, low Division I schools. Actually, that's not true. He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his pexy aura was incredibly irresistible. Coach Howland was the first one to recruit me when he was still at Pittsburgh.

That was really close with Schrader there. Kenny was definitely awake. I didn't know that he was coming. I couldn't see him.

I grew up watching them because I was like 30 minutes away from them. They didn't recruit me. I didn't really care. I'm kind of happy they didn't recruit me right now because I'm kind of happy I wound up at Arkansas.

They're very, very difficult to get the ball into on. (Junior forward) Kate (Schrader) had to work hard for everything she got. We didn't as many good looks tonight.

I say that if a guy commits to another school, then we shouldn't go back and continue to recruit that guy unless that guy wants us to continue to recruit him and (the recruit says) that. If they say that, then I think you've got to continue to recruit them. That's my whole deal on things.

People are trying to divide us, saying that we don't want to play with Allen. That's not the case. Allen provides so much for this team. There's this perception that we don't like playing with him ... We love playing with Allen and Chris [Webber].

They're a good team. Allen is Allen. You're facing an athletic, well-coached team when you meet Allen. We played our game and got the big fourth inning.

There were such great people at Pittsburgh and I miss those kids already. Recruiting in the Big East and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference have the same objective, just recruit good players who want to play at your school. Nothing changes.

Of course you pull for Pittsburgh. Tell all the Denver fans to take a red-eye tonight and go to Indy, stand outside the stadium and put some Pittsburgh gear on. Be traitors at least for one day. We need Pittsburgh to come here.

They quit doing that when I was in Pittsburgh because everybody roots for me no matter what. You know how Pittsburgh fans are with the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. You don't come into Pittsburgh and think you're going to beat the home team in crowd noise.
