Ashley called us during the season and let us know that there was another great player in the state of Mississippi. The two of them took their official visits, and there's been a lot of talk about what 'we' were going to do at Arkansas among the recruits.

I plan on playing the season and then making my official visits. Right now, I am pretty open and I like Florida State, Auburn, Tennessee, Ohio State, Syracuse and Florida.

Ashley just kept getting better and better last season. That's something you hope for from all incoming players. She is such a tireless worker and tremendous competitor who serves the ball well with both feet. Ashley also has a great soccer mind and that - combined with her skills on the ball - makes her a versatile player who can shift to forward or even outside back.

Without a doubt we have been handed as extreme a challenge of rebuilding on the Gulf Coast as imaginable. But Mississippi is a great state with great people, and already we're welcoming golf, gaming and other tourists to the rest of the state. Ashley is the type of player who can do a lot of different things. I can put Ashley anywhere on the field and I'd feel comfortable doing it. She is just that great of an athlete.

The work never ends for me. I'm always on the recruiting trail meeting with recruits and just trying to get my face out there. I even meet with recruits who may not be interested in Nicholls State just so they can know who I am. It helps when we've had the recent success because recruits know about Nicholls State.

Sure, winning is important. Recruits want to go where they know they can win. For some out-of-state recruits, it was a factor in their decision. I believe people in the Chicago area and in-state know what we've done in recent years.

I was excited to get Division 1 offers from the military academies, Tulsa, Arkansas State and Louisiana Monroe. I was content with playing on that level. Then, this weekend was just more icing on the cake. Miami called and that was a great experience.

He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring. Whenever you play Mississippi State, it's obvious it means a lot. You don't take that lightly. What I don't do is, I don't put our whole season into it. But when you look at the schedule, obviously, every year, as soon as you get the conference schedule and you look and see when you play Mississippi State. That's what rivals are all about.

Ashley had a great freshman season and will return with a year of experience and confidence in leading the team from the back, ... By adding a high caliber player like Jamie to the goalkeeper position, we make ourselves even tougher in the net.
