en A lot of the girls on this year's team were on those teams. They didn't want that to happen again. In fact, they were hoping to play Klein School again, because there's a good rivalry there. Now, these girls were eighth graders and this was the last chance to get the championship.

en Sometimes you get a little rusty after not playing for more than a week, but our girls are mature and they know what's at stake. They'll be mentally prepared and ready to play.

If I had any help at all, it was asking God not to win (or) not to play good, but let the players play like I knew they could play mentally.

en If anything, the reason why they scored that goal was a mental lapse. I feel like the girls, there were some bad calls and they just mentally were out of it for a few moments, and that's when they scored the goal.

en I play this game to compete, and if our offense wasn't mentally in the game just because of what happened earlier in the day, then it's unacceptable. Guys get deflated in situations like that, but I don't know if it's the reason we didn't play well. We would have liked to have finished on a good note but didn't do it.

en I feel as though we've been rather competitive. But in non-league, we don't step up. We can't play back-to-back for whatever reason, whether it's mentally, physically or both.

en They had us mentally before we ever started. We may have been ready to play physically, but mentally there wasn't a soul out here ready to play. That's what killed us in the first inning.
