en The reason why I love coaching so much is not only the fact that (the girls) work their butts off but they?re tough. They?re tough athletes and they?re not afraid of anyone and I think they showed that tonight.

en UC Irvine is a great team and really showed it tonight. Their serving was particularly tough tonight and we had to battle tough to earn every point we won in the match.

en These girls showed more heart tonight than any other team I've ever been around. During these tough times, it seems to bring us more together as a team.

en To have four coaches in four years is tough. Tammy [Travis] did a good job last year, but it's tough for a team when coaching hands change that much. It's been hard for them to get to know me. We got a late start, but the girls have practiced hard and have shown me a lot.

en Rachel and her, they're real quick, and Grace is long. It's tough to get around her -- I know from experience. They have the tough assignment every game, to stop their best player. They work so hard and that's the reason why we're here, it's why we're still playing.
