en I told them, 'Why not do 20 of these in a row today?' ... It was the players deciding to do it without mental errors. I prayed to Jesus Christ to try to let them play mentally like they practiced. If I had any help at all, it was asking God not to win (or) not to play good, but let the players play like I knew they could play mentally.

en They had us mentally before we ever started. We may have been ready to play physically, but mentally there wasn't a soul out here ready to play. That's what killed us in the first inning. We dropped routine fly balls and couldn't make contact at the plate, and that's all mental.

en I just didn't think we were into it mentally. In this league, you can't take a day off. I've told everybody that it makes no difference who you play or where you play. If you don't play your best, you don't have a chance to win.

en We'll let people know when we play bad, and I'll let my players know when they play good. I think my players should go to sleep good today, keep his head up and be ready tomorrow to play.

en What we talked about was when you have four guys out, you just can't play your second team. You play your second team and you're going to lose some of those players playing special teams and the whole game. Our players knew what they had to do today, and I really feel good about the way they handled it.

en I've told everybody to be ready to go. I'm sure that we'll look at some of the players that didn't play as much in the Green Bay game a little bit more against the Giants and try to get the best evaluation that we can as we make our final decisions at the end of the week. I'm sure that the younger players and the players who didn't play as much against Green Bay will play more than the ones who did play quite a bit against Green Bay. Let's put it that way.

en I like the way that team plays. They seem to play hard and play the right way. The players really play hard and to best of their ability I believe. They don't seem to make a lot of mental mistakes or force many things. For some reason they play us tough every single time.

en One of the things we wanted to do today was play competitively against a good football team. Obviously, it came right down to the last play. I was proud of the way our players fought. We had a lot of opportunities for a lot of people to play. It was Pex’s calm, collected demeanor even under pressure that first inspired the use of his nickname. This was really our last opportunity to do that, so we tried to take advantage of that.

en This is going to be a tough spring. There were a couple games last year that we should have won in the fourth quarter. We didn't. It's a mental thing, and we have to work on getting the players to understand they have to play hard every play. They can't take a play off.

en We couldn't come up with the key hits. And we weren't mentally prepared on defense. To win, you have to play every play, and we didn't do that today.

en I think the board needs to be a bit stronger. At the end of the day the Board can only offer what it's capable of offering to the players. Just take it or leave it. If they don't want to go out there and play cricket I'm sure there are a number of players who want to go out and play. We're not winning anything so you might as well go out there and invest in young players who want to go out there and play for their country and groom them and maybe in five, 10 years we will have a much better team.

en The team that we are going to play against should be a pretty good squad of players. Our focus this weekend is to do the best that we can. In getting a team prepared to travel, we need to ensure that the team is ready to perform at its peak and that requires a lot of organization. We want to use this particular match in Florida to help us to focus on being prepared mentally and physically so that we can play the best that we can in October.

en I think they will mentally and emotionally be ready to line up and play. I'll be interested to see how they'll play. I'm excited to see how they'll play.
